GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY TODAY We are starting the construction for the completion of our Church! On SUNDAY MARCH 3, immediately following the Divine Liturgy, we will all assemble at the location where the new Bell Tower will be built and after the Agiasmo by Father Christoforos we will proceed with the groundbreaking. The following day, March 4, at the General Assembly, the President of the Parish Council, Mr. Efstratiades, will speak on the history of the architectural design of the Church.
ANNUAL SPAGHETTI LUNCHEON TODAY
The St. Thomas Maturity Club will be hosting a Community Luncheon following Church Services on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Everyone is invited to come to the Danielle Kousoulis Greek Cultural Center and support this event. Menu: Spaghetti with ground beef, salad, roll and butter, dessert and coffee. Cost: $12 for adults and $7 for children. The Hellenic Heritage Dance Group will entertain us with Greek Mardi Gras Dances.
PARISH GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING - NEW DATE: MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2019
The first regular General Assembly of our Parish for the year 2019, which was postponed due to the inclement weather, will now take place on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the St. Irene Hall. The meeting will start at 7:00 pm. The agenda has been mailed to all our parishioners. Please try to attend. The presence and participation of every member of our Community is very important. You will also be informed on the progress of the building renovation project. 2018 Stewardship must be fulfilled and 2019 Stewardship must be pledged prior to the start of the meeting.

ST. IRENE PHILOPTOCHOS NEWS: “CHAPTER CHALLENGE” ANNOUNCEMENT &
INVITATION Our Philoptochos Society has been selected by our NJ Metropolis and the National Philoptochos to work on the “Chapter Challenge” project, a two- year program focused on helping people in need, that will run through April of 2020. For this "hands-on" community service project, we have set our heart to work with two Organizations thatprovide services to people dealing with homelessness, “Joseph's House” the Adult Homeless Shelter, in Camden and “Covenant House” the Teenage Shelter with 2 locations, in Camden and Atlantic City. We will work with both
non-profits collaboratively, to aid homeless brothers and sisters and most importantly give them the chance they need to make a life for themselves away from the streets. We have reached out to all Organizations at St. Thomas and ALL of them have embraced and supported our endeavor to “Witness God’s love in action for those in NEED”. A detailed monthly calendar that includes volunteer opportunities for the entire community has been generated so that ALL OF US TOGETHER share our time, talent and treasures by providing food, everyday items, clothing, making food and serving it and a lot more for and to these fellow human beings! "CHAPTER CHALLENGE" PAJAMA DRIVE The St. Irene Philoptochos and the Hellenic School PTO will be collecting NEW spring/summer pajamas, lounge pants and plain t-shirts (no logos) going to Covenant House for young men & women, ages 18-21. Please donate only brand new items. Most needed sizes: L, XL & XXL. Collection containers are in the Church Narthex, the St. Irene Hall, the Danielle Kousoulis Center and the entrance to the "Balis Educational Center". Thank you again for your support.
VOLUNTEER AT THE CHERRY HILL FOOD PANTRY – MARCH 2019 DATES:
Continuing our voluntary commitment with the Cherry Hill Food Pantry, the non-profit organi- zation, that currently serves 850 families in the area, we have been invited to join the team of volunteers on Tuesdays 03/12 and 03/19 and Thursdays 03/14 and 03/21. The time frame on Tuesdays is 5:00-8:00 pm and on Thursdays 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Pantry is located at 1463 Brace Road, in Cherry Hill. We need 12 volunteers for these dates to help stack food items on the shelves and assist “shoppers” with their shopping needs. Anyone over 14 years of age can participate and help people in need; men and women, GOYANs, Greek and Sunday school

JOURNEY THROUGH TRIODION & LENT WITH YOUR PASCHA PASSPORT!
Once again this year, our “Tot and Me” through 6th Grade classes along with their parents, have a wonderful opportunity to participate in the “Journey through Triodion & Lent” in a unique way via the “Pascha Passport”. The Pascha Passport is intended to be used as a means of enrichment and education on your journey through Triodion (the three weeks before Lent), the Great & Holy Lent up to Pascha. Much like a real passport, it has many different spaces
for stamps; however, the stamps that go in this passport are of beautiful icons that correspond to each destination in the Pascha Passport. These passport stamps are received at each of the various services of the Triodion, Lent, Holy Week, and “Special Destinations”. The beginning of the passport has a place for the pilgrim to write their personal information and to sign a declaration of their intent as they embark on their journey through Lent to the final destination of Great and Holy Pascha. The Pascha Passport includes succinct explanations of each destination intended to help pilgrims of all ages, traditions, and backgrounds better understand and participate in the beautiful and humbling journey to Pascha. PARISH “ST. JOHN ORATORICAL FESTIVAL” FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2019
Each year all the youth of our Parish are invited to participate in the annual St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival. This is a National program that leads to scholarship opportunities and personal growth for our children for any future endeavor they may follow. Public Speaking is essential today and what better way than presenting and learning with our St. Thomas family who always encourages and supports our children! The topics for our 7th - 12th grade are very contemporary. With questions or information (7th - 12th grades), please contact Mrs. Ninita Birbilis at ninita101 @aol.com or see her on Sundays after Sunday School classes. There is also a 3rd - 6th grade program (Elementary Division) that is only at the parish level, but is geared towards helping younger children learn more about their faith and begin to gain confidence speaking in front of an audience. The younger grades will speak on the topic of “My favorite icon of Jesus’ life or our Theotokos at St. Thomas” and will also present on the same day as the older students of our parish as well as provide any drawings they may want to present on this topic. The parish Oratorical Festival will be held on Friday, March 15th 2019 after the Service of the First Salutations to the Theotokos and we pray all 3rd - 12th grade students will participate. HOPE & JOY MEETING - SUNDAY, MARCH 10
St. Thomas H.O.P.E. and J.O.Y. welcome all children in Pre-K to 6th grade to participate in our next meeting on Sunday, March 10th 2019, immediately following Orthodox Faith Sunday School. Children will be escorted by their teachers after class to the meeting site. We HOPE you can JOY’N us as we embark on our Journey to Pascha 2019! H.O.P.E. and J.O.Y. will conduct separate religious education and activities specific to each age group. In addition, a service project will be completed for our Philoptochos Chapter Challenge. Children will be planting seeds in flower pots to provide to Joseph’s House and Covenant House for springtime. Lunch will be provided. DANIELLE KOUSOULIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Scholarship Fund is offering one $2,000 (Two Thousand Dollar) scholarship to a current well-rounded graduating high school senior who will be seeking higher education. Danielle Kousoulis, who was a member of St. Thomas, tragically lost her life on September 11, 2001 as a result of the terrorists’ attack on the World Trade Center. This scholarship fund was established in Danielle’s memory to honor her very giving and generous nature. Το χρονικ πλασιο για τις Τρτες εναι 5:00-8:00 μ.μ. και τις Πμπτες 10:00 π.μ. με 1:00 μμ. Το Cherry Hill Food Pantry βρσκεται στην διεθυνση 1463 Brace Rd στο Cherry Hill. Χρειαζμαστε 12 εθελοντς για αυτς τις ημερομηνες οι οποοι θα φροντσουν για την τοποθτηση των τροφμων στα ρφια και επσης θα βοηθσουν τους "αγοραστς" με τα ψνια τους. Οποιοσδποτε νω των 14 ετν μπορε να συμμετσχει και να βοηθσει τους ανθρπους που χουν ανγκη - νδρες και γυνακες, μλη της νεολαας GOYA, οικογνειες του Ελληνικο και του Κατηχητικο Σχολεου! Χριστοφρο. Ελτε στο Μεγλο Απδειπνο στις 6:30 μμ και μετ απ νηστσιμο δεπνο θα ακολουθσει συζτηση.

Και πλι φτος, λα τα παιδι του Κατηχητικο μας, Προνηπιακ μχρι και 6η Τξη, θα χουν τη δυναττητα να λβουν μρος στο «Ταξδι προς το Πσχα», λαμβνοντας τα «διαβατρι» τους! Το «Διαβατριο του Πσχα» χει σκοπ να προετοιμσει και να κατευθνει τα παιδι μας στε να καταλβουν την ννοια του Τριωδου και της Μεγλης Τεσσαρακοστς και να προετοιμαστον για τις γιες αυτς ημρες μχρι την Κυριακ του Πσχα. Κθε Κυριακ και σε κθε εορτ θα «σφραγζεται» το διαβατρι τους με ωραες εικνες, στε τα παιδι μας να νισουν αυτν την ωραα αναμον μχρι την μεγλη εορτ. Στην αρχ του διαβατηρου τους, τα παιδι μπορον να γρψουν τα προσωπικ τους στοιχεα και να υπογρψουν μια δλωση τι επιθυμον να συμμετχουν σε αυτ το ταξδι προς το γιο Πσχα μσα στην Εκκλησα! Το «Διαβατριο» περιλαμβνει περιληπτικ την ερμηνεα του κθε εορταστικο σταθμο της Μ. Σαρακοστς με σκοπ την κατανηση λων σων

συμβανουν αυτν την περοδο μσα στην Εκκλησα μας. Παρακαλομε πολ τους γονες να προμηθευτετε να «διαβατριο» για τα παιδι σας απ το Γραφεο του Κατηχητικο μας και να αρχσουμε λοι μαζ το ταξδι αυτ. Καλ δναμη!
ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ ΝΕΟΛΑΙΑΣ “SIGHTS & SOUNDS”
Το φεστιβλ «SIGHTS & SOUNDS 2018» θα πραγματοποιηθε το Σββατο 23 Μαρτου 2019 στην Ενορα Αγας Τριδας, Egg Harbor. Οι πρβες γνονται κθε Σββατο στην αθουσα «ΑΓΙΑ ΕΙΡΗΝΗ». Κωνσταντνος Κοτρας, για την συμβολ του και τις πολτιμες υπηρεσες του στην Ομογνεια. Το Δεπνο αρχζει στις 5.30 το απγευμα (4.30 τα ορεκτικ) και η τιμ του εισιτηρου εναι $75. • Την Κυριακ 7 Απριλου 2019, θα πραγματοποιηθε η Εθνικ μας Παρλαση στους δρμους της Φιλαδλφειας, με την τιμητικ παρουσα των Ευζνων. Η παρουσα λων των Ελληνορθδοξων (Ελλνων και Φιλελλνων) εναι επιτακτικ! Θα υπρχoυν λεωφορεα για τη μεταφορ μας στην Παρλαση μετ την Θ. Λειτουργα. Το κεντρικ θμα της φετινς Παρελσεως θα εναι η συμπλρωση 100 ετν απ την Γενοκτονα των Ποντων αδελφν μας.
