PRAYERS FOR THE SICK

Presentation at the Temple

“Master you may dismiss your servant in peace.”

Luke 2:29

Did You Know? Don’t take your Christmas trees down yet. It’s time to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas.

Christmas is one of the most important days of the Church year, second to Easter itself. The liturgical season of Christmas begins with the Vigil Masses on Christmas Eve and concludes with the Baptism of the Lord. Epiphany is the day that the three wise men came to pay homage to Christ and signifies the extension of salvation to the Gentiles. Since the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord is celebrated on Jan 7th, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord is transferred to the following Monday (1/8). So, now that Advent is over and Christmas has begun, try to slow down and enjoy the lights on your tree, and take time to reflect on the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas.

2018 Second Collections

As Catholics we are part of a universal Church that extends beyond our own parish boundaries. Through second collections, we have an opportunity to be stewards to those in need and give to organizations supported by Church leaders as a way to fulfilling that call of Our Lord.

Please view these collections in the light of our stewardship mission. God has given us our life and our prosperity; it is right that we give back by helping people in our own country and throughout the world.
