Weekend in Bundaberg—17-19 May 2019 (report by Eve McCormack)
In past years, the Rover Club of Queensland has been invited to the Canecutters Classic Rally in Bundaberg. This
year, we were invited to their National Motoring Heritage Display Day to be held on Saturday 18 May 2019. So, Fri-
day saw us on the road north, driving through light rain. On Friday evening, we were joined for dinner by Jon and Ju-
lie Lowe and Craig and Jenny Barraud.
Saturday 18 May was a beautiful sunny day when we headed out to the Display where we met up with Rover Club
members, Rod and Hazel Gillespie and also new member Peter Walkington and his wife, There was a wonderful dis-
play of many veteran and vintage vehicles; in the afternoon we made the (obligatory) visit to the Bundaberg Rum
Distillery; in the evening we met up with others from various car clubs over dinner at the Melbourne Hotel. On Sunday
we headed back to Brisbane. It was a great weekend in a lovely part of Queensland.
Those attending: Ross and Eve McCormack (Rover P5); Craig and Jenny Barraud (Rover SD1); Jon and Julie Lowe
(Rover P6); Rod and Hazel Gillespie (Rover P5).
