This week’s math fact, 9+2, 2+9, 9+6, and 6+9 Reading – Unit 2 Test ”The Alvin Alley Kids” Summarizing by identifying the main ideas of a story, antonyms and synonyms, using a thesaurus English – past tense verbs Social Studies – rural, urban and suburban communities, using a compass rose, compare and contrast communities of the past to today’s communities. Handwriting We begin cursive writing next week - lower case e Reminders: 1. We really enjoyed our trip to the McKinley Museum. We are looking forward to our Music field trip on the 12th. 2. Students should have at least five hours of reading on their reading log by December 7 th . Please encourage your child to read aloud to you and discuss the book together. 3. Keep studying those math facts. We are seeing some great progress. 4. We really enjoyed our visit from Dr. Jain from India. We were able to compare and contrast her community to ours. 5. Please turn in the $20 for school fees as soon as possible. 6. Santa shop will take place on December 14 th . 7. Colten did a great job as our star student this week.
