Dress appropriately. Make a good firstimpression. Also, you might be called on rightthen for the interview.

Key Points For Filling Out Your
Information-make sure you fill in as much informationas possible and if it doesn't apply to you put N/A you
need to inform the interviewer of your skills andabilities so he will want to meet with you Honesty-this should be a given you should always be
honest but especially with a prospective employer because if they find out you are lying that is a reasonnot to hire you or worse a reason to FIRE you
Legibility-make sure you write neat if they cant readwhat is on the application they are not going to knowwhat skills you have and most likely you are not goingto even get an interview

Cover Letter The purpose of a cover letter is to introduce
yourself to an employer and to state your interest in an organization or a particular position. A cover letter is an opportunity for
you to highlight aspects of your backgroundthat are especially relevant to the potentialemployer. A cover letter should alwaysaccompany your resume.

Types of Interviews Directed Interview-this interview involves the
interviewer using an outline and asking specificquestions within a certain time frame. The interviewer works from a checklist and takes notes. This type of interview is impersonal and seeks to reveal facts.
Undirected Interview-this interview is unstructured andallows candidates to discuss their qualificationsopenly. This interview gives the candidates a measureof control over the interview, providing for anopportunity to concentrate on strengths and to show

Types of Interviews Continued Panel Interview-involves a number of interviewers
which could include a supervisor, a manager, humanresource officer, shift leader, another employee. Theyusually ask one question; a piece that represents their area of concern.
Group Interview-Some large companies or organizations interview several prospective employeesat one time. The interviewers may ask questions in anunstructured manner, therefore, the questions andcomments may be unrelated to one another.

Types of Interviews Continued Stress Interview-this interview is one of the more
difficult types it intentionally creates and promotesdiscomfort. The interviewer may have an abrupt or brash attitude. Alternately, the interviewer may stare,be silent, and spend time taking notes. The purpose of this type of interview is to test the candidate's ability tobe assertive and handle difficult situations.
Behavioral Interview- candidates are asked to respondto questions that require examples of previousactivities undertaken and behaviors performed.

A thank you letter should be sent out 24-48 hours after the interview. The purpose of the letter is to let the interviewer know how much youappreciated the time he or she spend interviewing you
