E6 ENGINEERING WORKS E6.0 ALL NIGHTS

ALL LINE(S)

Stratford and North Greenwich Following several instances - between Stratford and North Greenwich - where Protection Masters have been found to be on the track prior to the passage of the last timetabled train, all PMs must note the following: The Signal Operator at Neasden Service Control Centre can be contacted on Auto 40879 to determine that the last "timetabled" train has passed through the area.

RESTRICTIVE ENGINEERING WORKS The Site Person in Charge responsible for work published for Asbestos Exclusion Zones, Keep Clear Areas, Wheels Free or Areas where no other work that affects the integrity of the signalling can take place must ensure that the TAC incident desk receives confirmation, between 21:30 and 23:00, that the published work will be taking place on the shift concerned. If no confirmation is received by 23:00 TAC may disregard the restriction and other staff may be permitted to work within the affected area.

WEBSITES Our primary website for track safety publications, including rule books is available at https://sharelondon.tfl.gov.uk/pt/tms/Rule%20Book%20MS. You will need to register with us to access this site. Please send your details to [email protected] The address for our backup website is:- http://www.lul-possessions.co.uk/progress/TFL_Documents.html This site does not require a password.

Contacting the signaller when passage of last train not witnessed When contacting the signaller, because it has not been possible to witness the passage of the last train, protection staff must state the line, station, platform number and if known, the number of the last train. Do NOT contact the signaller until after the published time for traction current to be switched off.

CENTRAL LINE(S)

White City platform 3, middle road Protection staff should be aware, that although White City middle road platform 3 is fed from the Park Royal to Wood Lane westbound traction current feed, the last train into the middle road platform approaches in an eastbound direction.

CIRCLE & HAMMERSMITH AND METROPOLITAN LINE(S)

HAMMERMSMITH SERVICE CONTROL CENTRE Hammersmith Service Control Centre is currently being used for Service Control operational training and the testing of the new CBTC signalling system in preparation for Go Live in June 2018. It is essential that all maintenance activities and access are closely planned and co-ordinated with the on-site Construction Managers at Hammersmith SCC. Please use the following email address when booking maintenance access: [email protected]

King's Cross (Disused station) Following the discovery of discarded syringes in the area of Kings Cross disused station, staff are to be extra vigilant whilst passing through or undertaking works in that area. If any such items are identified please ensure these are reported through the EIRF system and immediately advise your manager.

Liverpool Street - Monitoring equipment At Liverpool Street station, on the Circle & Hammersmith and Metropolitan lines and 200m into tunnels towards Aldgate, automated survey monitoring equipment is installed, fixed to the tunnel and track to monitor movement during construction works above. Please avoid touching this equipment, or obstructing in any way the barrel shaped prisms mounted low down on track and trackside - particularly their line of sight to the instruments hanging from the tunnel crowns. If you think you may have inadvertently touched or damaged this equipment, please contact Jocelyn Donovan at [email protected].

REVISED TRACK ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS ALDGATE TO MOORGATE AND TOWER HILL TO WHITECHAPEL ALL As a result of a formal incident investigation into a number of recent protection irregularities, it was identified that the following enhancement to track access arrangements will be trialled on these traction current sections: Aldgate to Moorgate Inner Rail Moorgate to Aldgate Outer Rail Tower Hill to Whitechapel Eastbound Whitechapel to Tower Hill Westbound. Staff requiring access to any of these traction current sections in this complex area, must NOT contact the track access control until after the published switching off time for traction current. The track access controller will book you on once they have confirmation that the last train has cleared the area and traction current has been switched off. There is no need to contact the signaller if you do not witness the passage of the last train or trains over these four traction current sections. You must however, continue to test for traction current on all traction current sections that you will be accessing.

LVAC CABLE TEST - TOWER HILL SUBSTATION TO ALDGATE E1 SWITCHROOM (Wed 02/05/2018 only)

There will be an interruption to the low voltage AC supply from Tower Hill substation to Aldgate E1 switchroom during engineering hours for approximately two hours. Down stream asset owners need to be aware that they may need to supply engineering support to ensure that their assets function correctly when the supply is re-connected.

DISTRICT LINE(S)

EMERGENCY CONTACT BETWEEN NOTTING HILL GATE AND BOUVERIE PLACE Protection Masters working on the Traction Current Sections "Notting Hill Gate to Bouverie Place, both" should note the tunnel telephone lines (for emergency discharge of traction current) are controlled by the Metropolitan Service Controller at Baker Street. Staff working in this location should telephone 910 in the event of an emergency; this information should be entered in their log books.

VICTORIA STATION At Victoria station, on the Victoria Line and District and Circle Line, through the platform limits and 200m into tunnels and sidings, London Underground have installed automated survey monitoring equipment fixed to the tunnel rings and track to monitor tunnel movement during the Victoria station Upgrade. In addition there are 3 instruments, mounted on podia in the Victoria line crossovers. Please avoid touching this equipment, or obstructing in any way the barrel shaped prisms mounted low down in passenger circulation areas and trackside - particularly their line of sight to the instruments hanging from the tunnel crowns. If you think you may have inadvertently touched or damaged this equipment, please contact David Smith on 0207 918 0411.

METROPOLITAN LINE(S)

HARROW ON THE HILL TO WATFORD SOUTH JUNCTION, NB MAIN Protection Masters working on the northbound main line between Harrow-on-the-Hill No. 1 platform and Watford South Junction must be aware of Chiltern Trains train movements when testing traction current.

NORTHERN LINE(S)

OLD STREET TO EUSTON (CITY) Testing of tunnel lighting circuits. All staff accessing the track should be aware that the tunnel lighting will be switched on & off during engineering hours from both Northern Lines between Old Street and Euston (City). Staff needing to access the track in this area (including platforms grounds) should ensure that they have made sufficient provision for lighting, torches, etc. to enable their works to proceed safely.

Kennington Loop - raised TBTC loop cable In the Kennington Loop there are installed two areas of raised TBTC loop cable. The loop is raised on brackets for approximately 50m through both the southbound and northbound step-plate junctions. Please be mindful when crossing or accessing the track in these areas to avoid tripping. Please make every effort not to stand on the loop cable or brackets. Please make every effort not to drop items on, lean or store items next to the loop or brackets. Please report any damage to the Fault Report Centre on 0207 027 1986 (auto 51986) for internal staff or 0207 027 1985 (auto 51985) for external staff.
