*Washington School Family Fun Night at the YMCA, 6:00-8:30pm : This is a FREE event for all
Washington School students and families. The Loft, the pool, and the gym will all be open for you to
“exercise” your way into the weekend!!
*Lincoln School Family Dance, 6:30-7:30pm: All students and families from Lincoln Elementary School
are invited to socialize, laugh, and get your groove on during this one night event.

*Ice Skating/Sledding, warming shed open at Crystal Lake/Tahoe Park 1:00-4:00pm: Grease up the
sled, slip on the skates, throw on the long johns and come on out for a great FREE family activity to start your
weekend! The ice skating rinks are located at Tahoe and Crystal Lake, while the sledding hills are at Crystal
Lake and Waterworks.

*Super Sundays, ALL DAY: Make great use of all the Beaver Fitness Fever walking routes throughout the
city. Go to www.mapmyrun.com and search “BFF” to come up with plenty of routes to keep your feet moving.
*Cabin Fever Fest, 1:00-4:00pm: There’s nothing better than a day outdoors with the family to beat the
winter blahs and have a great time at our winter play-day at Crystal Lake Park. Ice skating, sledding, snow
paints, wagons rides, and live music are just a few of the “blizzardly” cool things happening at Cabin Fever this
year!!
*Family Center Open Skate, 3:00-4:30pm: Enjoy 90-minutes of whipping around the rink like Apolo
Anton Ohno! The Family Center will be open for you future Olympians, for the novice skater, and for a little
fun family fitness. $2 for kids.
*Family Game Sundays, 1:00-3:00pm: Bring your family and friends to the Washington School gym on
Sunday afternoons for some exercise and fun. FREE admission and no pre-preregistration necessary.
Equipment is available for your use. All youth under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

family. Everyone will have the opportunity to learn basic introductory martial arts skills. The class will be held
at Martial Arts America, 120 Front Street, Beaver Dam.

*Healthy and Homemade, 6:00-7:30pm : Join UW-Extension’s team of educators for a free, hands-on
nutrition class and learn three easy steps to healthy meals. Participants will learn how kids can help in the
kitchen, make some easy recipes and sample the results. Each family will take home lots of ideas, recipes and
a meal planning calendar. Any member of the community is invited to attend. This event will be held at
Jefferson Elementary School.

Feb. 9 *English Country Folk Dance Class, 7+ yrs old, Dance Now! Studios, LLC, 5:30-6:00pm: Are you ready to
dance? Come learn the Virginia Reel! Bow to your partner, do-si-do, and swing your partner in this traditional
English Country Folk Dance! No experience needed! Bring your dance shoes or just wear socks (no street
shoes allowed on the dance floor) and wear comfortable clothing. Yee haw!

Feb.22 *Lincoln School Ice Skating Day, Family Center,8:45-10:45 and 12:45-2:45: Lincoln school will be lacing
up the skates and gliding across the ice and around the rink during this fun filled day of fitness.
Feb.23 *Giggles and Wiggles Dance Class, 2-4 yrs old, Dance Now! Studios, LLC, 5:30-6:00pm: Does your child
like movement, music, and giggles? Then this is the class to take! We will dance, jump, spin, and move to the
music, while using our imaginations to help create our own movement. Fun props such as scarves, maracas,
and fairy wands will be used to explore the wonderful world of dance! Participants will learn basic dance
movements and participate in structured creative movement activities. Wear comfortable clothes you can
move in and either ballet shoes or socks. Parent or guardian should accompany child to class and be prepared
to assist child in participation.

Feb.24 *Ski/Snowboard Trip to Devils Head, HS Students ONLY, ALL DAY: School’s out for the day so why not
make a trip to Devils Head and hit the fresh powder, become one with the slopes, and have a great day with
your friends enjoying one of Wisconsin’s favorite winter activities. If that’s not enough incentive, just think of
the calories you will burn and the sweat that will drip from your clothes.
*Cascade Mountain Ski Trip: Cost is $36.00 Price includes transportation, flex lift ticket, flex rental,
beginner ski lessons, helmet and de3luxe food voucher. Deadline for registration: Thursday, Feb. 16th .

WEEK 5 Feb.25 *The Loft Experience, 8-16 yrs old, 10:00am - 12:00pm : Do you love video games and/or working out?
Well why not combine both and come check out the Loft at the YMCA of Dodge County. The Loft will be open
to enjoy a variety of Exertainment activities to get kids moving.

Public Health are teaming up to provide a poster display with handouts and staff available to discuss healthy
eating and exercise. This will take place in the lobby of the YMCA at the same time as the Loft will be open.
Healthy snacks will be available.

sled, slip on the skates, throw on the long johns and come on out for a great FREE family activity to start your
weekend! The ice skating rinks are located at Tahoe and Crystal Lake, while the sledding hills are at Crystal
Lake and Waterworks.
*Family Martial Arts Class Ages 4 – adult, 10:00-10:50am: This will be a FREE fun class for the whole
family. Everyone will have the opportunity to learn basic introductory martial arts skills. The class will be held
at Martial Arts America, 120 Front Street, Beaver Dam.

Mar.5 *Kids Club Wrestling, BDHS, 6:15-8:00pm: The Community Activities & Services Department is proud to
sponsor the Kids Club Wrestling program with Jeff Slayton! The purpose of the program is to teach youth the
fundamentals of wrestling in the spirit

Students will experience a basic boxing/kickboxing class taught by professional Black Belt Instructors. The class

Mar.6 *Family Climbing Night, BDMS, 5:00-7:00pm: With some new additions to the adventure side of things
at the Middle School, your family is invited to come and check it out. So, harness up, do a little spotting,
conquer the wall, jump from the leap of faith, and balance your way across the swinging planks.

*Cooking 4 Kids, 4:30pm: The aim of the class is to help teach kids about healthy foods that they can
easily make for breakfast or after-school snacks. The recipes use little to no cooking so they are safe and
appropriate for children of many ages. This class will be held at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Mar.8 *Hip Hop Introduction Dance Class, 5-8 yrs old, Dance Now! Studios, LLC, 5:30-6:00pm: Come learn
popular dance moves of today with a fusion of hip hop, jazz, and funk! We'll be dancing to some of the songs
you hear on the radio learning a short routine, and have some time for students to show off their own dancing
style! Wear either dance shoes or socks, and comfortable clothing you can move in. Let's get our groove on!
