On behalf of Marlborough Convention Centre may we take the opportunity to congratulate you both on your

forthcoming marriage and extend our very best wishes for the future.

Situated in the centre of Blenheim, along the banks of the Taylor River, the Marlborough Convention Centre is

the perfect location for your Wedding Reception.

Our team will ensure that your day is perfect, giving your wedding the personal service it deserves. We will

provide a dedicated wedding coordinator to work alongside you every step of the way.

At the Convention Centre, we do not stop at just providing a perfect venue. We have stunning menus

showcasing the array of fresh Marlborough produce accompanied with a selection of world class Marlborough

wines.

The following information is supplied to assist you in the planning of your Wedding Reception at the

Marlborough Convention Centre and to ensure that this very special event runs to schedule. If you prefer other

arrangements we would be delighted to fulfil them accordingly.

Our Wedding Package What We Can Offer

Our package includes the following items:

• A dedicated wedding coordinator who will offer advice and work with you every step of the way to ensure the success of your special day.

• One-on-one consultation with menus, ideas, theme possibilities and a comprehensive tour around our facilities.

• Full catering and bar facilities.

• Full reception set up which includes tables for guests and bridal party, cake, and gift table.

• Complimentary use of the foyer for drinks and canapés prior to the reception.

• Complimentary accommodation at the Scenic Hotel Marlborough for the bridal couple on their wedding night, with a complimentary bottle of bubbles and a late checkout of 12noon.

• Complimentary wet weather option for your Ceremony.

• Access to set up the reception area with decorations the day before the wedding (subject to availability).

Each function room is 18m by 10m

This room is ideal for elegant wedding receptions.

Located on the ground floor.

Also included is complimentary use of the foyer for

pre-reception drinks and canapes

Venue hire rate: $1,000 per hall

Additional Wedding Charges

Should your wedding reception take place on a

public holiday, an additional surcharge may apply.

Room Configurations

Our wedding function rooms offer a variety of

configurations, which can be set up to suit your

personal preferences.

The main wedding reception configurations are:

Banquet Ideal for wedding receptions which include a meal.

Guests are seated at tables of 10 with a head table

set at the front of the room for the bridal party.

Cocktail Ideal for large wedding groups that wish to mingle

rather than have a seated meal.

Cocktail receptions would include drinks and

canapés (see menu for options and pricing).

The 54-room 4 Star plus Scenic Hotel Marlborough is located a few minutes’ walk from the Convention Centre

and offers accommodation with a stylish and friendly atmosphere in the heart of Marlborough wine country.

The hotel has built its reputation on friendly personalised service, so whether you are visiting the Marlborough

region for a wedding or leisure – or a bit of both – you will find that we can cater for all your needs.

Terms & Conditions We are sure you will appreciate the following policies, which will enable us to service your forthcoming event.

Should you have any enquires on this information, we will be very happy to discuss them.

Additional Charges The organiser is responsible for any additional charges booked through Marlborough Convention Centre such as equipment, flowers, etc. A quote will be issued. The organizer is responsible for set-up and break down of any additional items brought into the Convention Centre.

Confirmation of Wedding Reception & Menus Your menu selection is required to be no later than Fourteen (14) days prior to the event, or as otherwise agreed with the Convention Centre. Confirmation of guest numbers is required 7 days prior to the event.

Access to set up the function room is available the day before the reception, within working hours, outside these hours charges may apply.

Damage We understand that accidents can occur which may cause damage. We also believe that effective liaison between Marlborough Convention Centre and wedding organisers can prevent most damage.

It is expressly forbidden to use screws, nails, tacks or adhesive tape of any kind on any part of the interior or exterior of the venue. Any damage caused to the property, furniture or fittings of Marlborough Convention Centre will become the financial responsibility of the wedding organiser.

Deposit Once a booking has been confirmed with the Convention Centre, a holding deposit equalling room hire will be requested, unless otherwise agreed with by management.

Food & Beverages Any adjustment to food and beverage can be made up to 7 days prior to the reception. All food and beverage prices listed are based on current prices, but may be subject to increase.

Function Room & Bar Hours Any music/entertainment must be concluded by 1am.

The function bar closes at 1am; all guests need to be off the premises half an hour after the bar has been closed.

If you require the function room and bar after 1.30am an additional fee may apply. (Special conditions apply.)

Band/DJ equipment can be set up on the day of the function and may need to be removed on the night or the next working day. Any personal possessions, presents, cake or decorations, may be left to be removed the next working day.

GST All prices quoted are inclusive of G.S.T. The room and table plan needs to be supplied and confirmed 72 hours prior to the wedding reception.

Liquor Licensing Laws Marlborough Convention Centre is a licensed premise and observes Host Responsibility.

We take pride in our facilities and services; therefore, we reserve the right of admission and will not serve intoxicated patrons or minors. The undersigned will be financially responsible for any damage our property may suffer because of this function.

Notice of 30-15 days Cancellations made within thirty to fifteen (30-15) days of the event date will incur a charge equalling to full room hire if the event space is left unsold.

Notice within 14 days Cancellations made within fourteen (14) days of the event date, will incur full room hire costs.

Notice within 48 Hours Cancellations within forty-eight (48) hours of the event will incur full room hire and 100% of the total food and beverage costs as quoted. All cancellations for function rooms and/or accommodation must be advised in writing to take effect.

Payment Details A full account will be issued after the reception and full payment is due by the following month.

Cancellations, Postponements and Amendments

In the unfortunate circumstances of cancellation or postponements of an event that has been confirmed, Marlborough Convention Centre applies the following cancellation policies:

Pricing All prices are based on current prices but may be subject to increase. Some items may be subject to seasonal availability.

Security Arrangements for additional security requirements over and above the existing service provided by Marlborough Convention Centre can be made upon request with the cost charged to your account.
