Future Options for Contract Ownership

• Peak• WECC• BAs

Page 5: WECC Interchange Tool Discussion Michelle Mizumori, Peak Matt Hunsaker, WECC W ESTERN E LECTRICITY C OORDINATING C OUNCIL

Considerations - Peak

• Peak currently holds the OATI contract• Would require additional FTE for

administrative support• May become a contract service (like Hosted

Advanced Applications)– Could include a Users Group

Page 6: WECC Interchange Tool Discussion Michelle Mizumori, Peak Matt Hunsaker, WECC W ESTERN E LECTRICITY C OORDINATING C OUNCIL

Considerations - WECC

• Funding would fall back into section 215 assessment base after 2015 (not a contract)

• FTE support and personnel would stay the same

• Does this tool make sense to be held by the RE?

• Are there concerns with the RE holding a compliance tool?

Considerations - BAs

• Control and ownership of the tool would be held by standard-applicable entities

• Need to develop contract structure with OATI• Need to identify administrative support

structure, including contract for administrative support– Third Party– A BA volunteer– Non-jurisdictional division of WECC
