I have been a parent governor since January 2014 and I have just been elected as our chair. I work as a manager for Tesco at Bursledon, although I have worked at Millbrook until recently. As the chair I work closely with our senior leaders to ensure our children get the very best of everything and I help Mr Howard and the team to Expect Success. We do need another Parent Governor. If you are interested or would like more information about the role, please call in at the school office.

Meet our new Chair of Governors

For those who do not know me I am Steph Thurston, and my son is Daniel and he is in 5CJ. I have been a parent governor since January 2014 and I have just been elected as our chair. I work as a manager for Tesco at Bursledon, although I have worked at Millbrook until recently. Attendance and Punctuality — Spring Term 2017

I am overwhelmed that attendance at Fairisle Junior has been brilliant during this term once again. Since Christmas, a staggering 159 children attended school on-time every day (169 this time last year and 147 in 2015) and 72 children have attended on-time every day since September (62 this time last year and 43 in 2015). I would like to say a huge ‘well done’ and congratulations to everyone (and their families of course!) .

The following children came to school on time every day during this half term from Tuesday 3rd January to Friday 17th February and those children in bold type have attended on-time every day since September. Overall attendance since September is a fantastic 96.7%. Very well done!

School Updates

Please remember that the Fairisle Schools are closed on Monday 27th February for staff training and that the children return after the half term break at 8.50am on Tuesday 28th February.

The lunch menu will remain on the winter menu after the holiday.

Thank you very much to everyone who participated in our Stripes for Saints day today. We raised a total of £181.10 for our Learning Leaders’ Playground Fund.

Very best wishes to all our children and families who are accompanying the team to Wembley.

Have a Great Day and we all hope you get a result!
