Quick Webcam Face Capture Manual

1. About Webcam Face CaptureWebcam Face Capture is a software PC-client (windows). It is operated as terminal-client application so that users can operate the Webcam Face Capture program from multiple host PCs at the same time. This program will run properly if the client computer is connected with a webcam and a keyboard or a card reader (barcode/proximity), so drivers must be installed and the webcam has to setup at a resolution of 320x240 pixels. If the users verify ID card to the Webcam Face Capture, logs from the Webcam Face Capture terminal will be automatically stored on the database of the Basic Employee Management Server real-time. In this server-client application, Webcam Face Capture Client is used as the user interface to collect the data.

2. Minimum requirements• 1.73 GHz x86 processor • 1 gigabytes (GB) of system memory (RAM)• At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk• Keyboard or numeric keypad PS/2• Webcam• Serial Port (COM) for Reader Barcode/Proximity (optional)• OS Windows XP

3. Installation• Select the PC to be used as a terminal-client. Server PC should be

always tuned on, because it should receive log data from the connected terminal PC and store it on the database real time.

• Start installation. Double click setup.exe to run the Webcam Face Capture installation package and follow the instructions to run the software.

4. Run ProgramAfter the installation of the FaceCapture system is completed, now you can try to run it. But, make sure that you have attached a webcam and installed the driver properly.

Double click on the icon FaceCapture to run application. At the first time running the FaceCapture application you must setup a connection data base, station number, working period (duration time auto mode I/O) and serial port COM (optional reader barcode/proximity) on form myConfig.

Run again the program and make sure loading the system success without an error.

5. Key in ID or scan ID card (optional using reader barcode/proximity)

How to verify my ID card and a face image is captured?Enter your code ID + enter on the text box (keyboard/numeric pad) or scan your ID card via serial reader (optional). As a fact you have to enroll in the Basic Employee Management. If you are not enrolled the FaceCapture application will refuse your code ID.
