1. General InformationWeather:March: Thursday – Generally mild and overcast.
Saturday - Generally sunny and warm.
May: Thursday –Generally cold and overcast. Saturday – Generally over cast, cool with some warmer spells.
General responses:Hard to get people with kids to stop.
Saturday – More tourists lack of English. Big groups – difficult to talk to individuals and get people to stop.
Thurs – more individuals – lots of older people.
General response was that people love IP and don’t want it changed too much – appreciation of the fact that it may be difficult to access for people with mobility issues but concerned as to what making IP more accessible will mean for the atmosphere and environment – also do not want it to become overly busy.
2. Profile of visitorsGenerally more females than males. By observation approximately ¾ of people under 16 were under 10. An overwhelming percentage of visitors to IP are white British (approximately 87%)

4. Notes/Additional comments madeBikes – Bike paths away from all cars would be good.Bikes – More cycle racks would be good. – 2 people said this.Bikes - There should be bike parking outside IP – 2 people said this.

Car Parking – Car park is very dusty.Car Parking – Disabled car park is often abused – park police should deal with this.Car Parking – Disabled car park should be for elderly as well as disabled people.Car Parking – I’d like to be able to park in the disabled car park even without a blue badge.Car Parking – Is there a possibility of special dispensation or a badge for the disabled car park relating only to Richmond?Car parking - It is busy at weekends/summer parking is sometimes difficult – 4 people said this. Car Parking – It is increasingly difficult to get a blue badge.Car parking - More parking outside would be good – 3 people said thisCar Parking – The disabled car park is well located but gets very busy. Car Parking – The road to the disabled car park has many potholes – 8 people said this.Car Parking – There should be more disabled parking.Car parking - There were a lot of dangerous potholes in the car park - 12 people said this.Car Parking – When big vans for groups of disabled people are using the car park there is no space.
Children - School parties sometimes disrupt the peace and quiet.Children - Baby changing facilities would be good. Children - Do not want children’s activities in IP/Children’s activities would be disruptive – 4 people said this.Children – Families picnic in the middle and take up a lot of space, and are very disruptive – 2 people said this.Children – Natural climbing – rocks sturdy tree/logs would be good.Children - Stuff for children would be good – 2 people said this.Children - There are too many children – 3 people said this.
Dogs – I can’t use the facilities at Pembroke lodge because dogs aren’t allowed.Dogs – No dogs.Dogs – The Disabled car park gate needs to be lowered so dogs can’t get underneath it.Dogs – There should be dog waste bins.
Dogs – There should be policing for dogs off lead.Dogs – There should be poo bags available.
Improvements - Change nothing/Unhappy about ‘improvements’ – 4 people said this.Improvements - I am worried about the work all happening at once and being disruptive.Improvements – I come with a wheelchair user every week – gates are easy – might be more of a problem for self-propelled chairs. Very conscious of path surface, but happy with it – syon park has gravelled paths that make it very difficult with wheelchair.Improvements – I have chronic fatigue syndrome which used to qualify me for a blue badge but doesn’t anymore. It limits my walking, and I would find it difficult to navigate the park especially on sticky or wet ground.Improvements – I like it as it is, but it would be good to increase accessibility if it doesn’t detract.Improvements – IP difficult for elderly or disabled people if they don’t have a blue badge.Improvements – Keep IP natural/Don’t make it too neat – 3 people said this.Improvements - Keep it uncluttered/More stuff might mean it’s less natural/No signs – keep it uncluttered – 7 people said this.Improvements - Like that it’s hard to find/don’t want more people to come – 3 people said this.
Other - Dusk tours would be good.Other - IP is a bit busy – 2 people said this.Other – An IP app would be good – opening times, whats in season, info, things of note.Other – Gates should be button operated - 2 people said this.Other – I liked the idea of the Bluebell walk I read about it – similar walks would be good. Other – I would like the ability to donate, and have dedications on plants and benches.Other – Mobility scooters could be dangerous and get stuck in the mud.Other - More gates would be good.Other – More water features would be good.Other - No cars in the park/vehicle access to park should be restricted. – 2 people said this.Other - Picnic tables would be good.Other - Rules are not maintained – people ride bikes in IP.Other – The aeroplanes that go over the park are very noisy.Other – The gate to the footpath doesn’t lock with new fencing.Other - There should be a ban on mobiles.Other – There should be more publicity for the springtime features of IP.Other – There should be picnic tables outside to encourage people to picnic before coming into IP.Other – Website should include more history of the park.
Other- Rang main office about using disabled car park – didn’t hear back – had to borrow blue badge from a friend to come to IP.Other- There are no bins in the plantation/There should be a bit by the pond – 6 people said this.
Paths – Bridge approaches and variation in ground surfacing bring problems for dual stick users. Paths – Don’t gravel paths.Paths – Don’t want improvements to damage natural aspects – access is possible all year round with heavy wheelchair.Paths – Ground and paths are poor in winter.Paths – I don’t want manicure paths.Paths – I only stayed 20 mins because paths were impossible with wheelchair.Paths – It was very muddy on main paths – 2 people said this.Paths – More paths and bridges would be good.Paths – Need tarmac for wheelchairs.Paths – Path surface is awful for wheelchairs.Paths – Resurfaced paths would be good.Paths - Small paths should be left overgrown to give more space to animals and birds/there are too many paths – 2 people said this.Paths – There should be something to indicate path surfacing – I got stuck in the mud in my wheelchair.Paths – There was no problem today with wheelchair but on a muddy day there would be difficulty.Paths - There was no problem with the buggy on the paths.Paths - Tree roots on paths could be hazardous – 3 people said this.
Plants/Wildlife - IP is quite overgrown and dark – 2 people said this.Plants/Wildlife - Bird watching would be good but should be bird sensitive.Plants/Wildlife - Landscaping maintenance needs to be more closely monitored – sometimes there are bare patches.Plants/Wildlife – More bird boxes would be good.Plants/Wildlife – More bird feeders would be good – 2 people said this.Plants/Wildlife – More lavender pleasePlants/Wildlife – Worried about damage to plants – concerned that integrity of ground is being damaged from overuse.
Praise – Best park we’ve ever been to, here or abroad.Praise – I am visually impaired but find IP paths well laid out. Praise – IP is a gem in the middle of LondonPraise – IP is a joy.Praise – IP is an oasis in the southwest – the perfect balance of cultivation and wilderness.
