PREFACE
The MARKOV MODEL FOR BRIDGE STATE SIMULATION User’s Manual
will serve as the basis on how the system will be operated by the users. The users’
manual is to provide assistance for the first time users of the system most especially those
who are not knowledgeable enough to use this kind of system. The manual provide
information and description on how to execute the system and its major functions. The
manual contains different screenshots of the different components of the system and
functions as well as the instruction on how the proper usage of the system. It provides a
clearer view on the layout drawn in the system by its description.
DISCLAIMER
The purpose of this manual is to provide users the idea on the different
functionalities of the system that have been implemented. There are recommendation,
which can be applied in the system in order to improve its functionalities and features. In
case of recommendation and suggestion for additional features in the system the users’
manual is subject to change. The content of this document can be improved without prior
notice and the researchers have the right to make changes.

SYSTEM LAYOUT
This section provides the user with the functionalities and modules of the system.
It helps the user to become more familiar with the system and how it works. The layout
of the system is shown in Screenshot 1.
The users are required to fill-in the textbox for the number of instances and trials
to begin of experimentation.

USING THE SYSTEM
This section provides the users on how to start and operate the systems
functionalities and modules. It will help the users to become more familiar with the
system and how it works. The layout of the system is shown in Screenshot 2.
The users are provided with a start menu which highlights the two modules
namely: Start and Exit.
Start
The start button leads the users to the data inputs for their experimentation. Users
must choose the module experimentation and build datasets to perform their
experimentation. The instances served as the sample size of the bridge design category
from 1-222 and trials served as the number of days. Screenshot 3 shows the environment
of where the users will input and their data.

Build Datasets
The build datasets allows the users to generate the inputted data in the datasets
input to view the record of Average Daily Traffic (ADT) referred as: light traffic,
medium traffic and heavy traffic. It will also display the Annual Daily Weight (ADW)
referred as: light, medium and heavy. All of this data are recorded according to the bridge
length and according by day. Screenshot 4 shows the environment of build datasets.
