Peter Pilot

pencil grasp story

I am Peter Pilot, your index finger (pointer).

Let me show you how I pilot pens and pencils.

I sit on top of the pencil. This is so I can control the pencil.

It is also so I can see exactly where the pencil is moving.

My co-pilot helps me to control the pencil.

Polly Thumb pinches the pencil to help control all movements. We are a good team.

Our purser, Max (middle finger) helps, too.

The pencil rests on top of Max to support it.

The other fingers are passengers.

They sit behind, curled up and comfortable.

Next time you pick up a pencil, rememberPeter Pilot, Polly Thumb, Max Support and the Passengers.

Remember where your fingers sit on your pencil to have the best control and enjoy drawing and writing. Happy piloting!
