PROJECT TODAY!Composting is an important part of food recovery, and composting needs
carbon! Community composting initiatives have gained momentum throughout DC as community centers, such as gardens and schools find ways to compost their food scraps. These communities use different kinds of carbon sources to power their compost, such as garden waste, fall leaves, woodchips, shredded
newspaper, etc. Unfortunately, finding enough carbon to properly mix with food scraps isn’t easy!
