Independent News & Media seeks applications for the position of
Operations Editor - Tabloids Independent News & Media (INM), Ireland’s leading news publisher, is seeking applications for the role of Operations Editor - Tabloids. The Operations Editor takes charge of the day-to-day production of the print edition of the Sunday World, liaising with the Group Head of Print Production, Deputy Editor, Quality Control Desk and News Editor.
Working with the Tabloid Platform Editor and Sunday World Editor, the role holder will oversee the requirements needed to publish a quality product that maintains the standards of the title in a competitive newspaper market. The Operations Editor will also, if required, work on print production of the Herald as part of INM’s Tabloid hub.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee all aspects of daily production Liaise with Advertising on formulating page plans Work closely with the Group Head of Print Production on necessary staffing requirements Maintain quality in the selection and display of content Ensure published content is free from legal liability Ensure deadlines are met Ensure the integrity of pages released to pre-press: liaise with the Quality Controller Print
Production for the execution of or delegation to the production team of the following tasks:o Pagination control to all print sites and digitalo Ensure integrity of advertising elements on the pageo Update relevant parties to changes in colour setup, size changes and cancelled pageso Colour quality
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSAt least 10 years experience as a media professional, with a recognised and demonstrated standard of excellence in the following areas:
Newspaper production Copy editing Team management
