A HUGE thank you to Bill Ramirez (SFCC), Ronda Reineke (SCC), Nancy DeVerse and Stacey Savino (GHC). The first round of testing Financial Aid cutover/data migration activities is approximately 50% complete. Activities include: importing year-to-date ISIRs, building FA term records, assigning students budgets, updating fields on the Packaging Status Summary page (i.e. file review and packaging statuses), posting historical data for Exit Counseling, and loading year-to-date active awards. Approximately 30% of Financial Aid CEMLIs (extensions, interfaces, etc.) have been delivered and are currently being tested by the functional team. This includes testing the newly developed components to calculate and store students’ WA State Need Grant eligibility. We have successfully completed testing the process of importing WA Application for State Financial Aid (WAFSA) files into PeopleSoft. Development of training materials is well underway, primarily thanks to the SBCTC post-go-live support team (THANKS Jodi Sharp and Johanna Dwyer!) and the ctcLink Training Team. ctLink’s Financial Aid team, Kim Wasierski and Rachelle Russell, meet weekly with the SBCTC post-go-live Support Team to review and provide information needed for training materials and more. Kim and Rachelle also hold weekly meetings with the FirstLink (FLC) colleges’ Financial Aid Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to provide team status updates, PeopleSoft knowledge transfer, exposure to FLC data resulting from data migration testing, data collection from FLCs, business process clarification, and much more.

Thank you TCC, SFCC and SCC SMEs for all your time and expertise!

FOCUSED FINANCIAL AID TRAINING! An external training firm, HTS, provided in-depth PeopleSoft Financial Aid training for a select group of FirstLink, ctcLink, and SBCTC Financial Aid SMEs. The process of activating a financial aid year in ctcLink all the way to authorizing and disbursing financial aid (and all the steps in between) were covered over two days at Tacoma Community College. Thanks for hosting us, TCC!
