2. Make a copy of an ad from a local newspaper. (In English)
a. Underline statements of opinion and circle statements of facts in the ad.
b. Give a brief explanation of why you think the sentence is either a fact or an opinion.
3. Make a list of common fallacies and generalizations about: a. Men:
Fallacies - You're not a woman, so you can’t comment on the abortion Generalization – All men’s are cruel.
b. Women: Fallacies - Women are more envious than men Generalization - They say that all women go after married men.
c. Police officers: Fallacies – That each police officer join the force to watch for the public well
being. Generalization –All police officer are corrupt.
d. Lawyers: Fallacies – All lawyers honor the laws. Generalization – All the lawyers are prepare to lie.
e. Teachers: Fallacies – Teachers are to provide the students values. Generalization – Teacher are abusive.
f. Reagaeton: Fallacies – Reagaeton makes you a good writer. Generalization – Reagaeton writers are ignorant.
g. Secretaries: Fallacies – The Secretary of the school are only for filing documents. Generalization – Secretaries are too demanding and punctual.
h. Black people: Fallacies - Black people live on the defensive by his past. Generalization - All Black People are good at sport.
j. Rocks: Fallacies – Rock music is a bad influence. Generalization – All rock music is related to evil
Answer the following questions. Remember to give an answer with all your respect. Do you agree with the fallacy or generalization? Why?
I do not agree with the fallacy and generalization because I think that each thing or person does not compare to anything or anyone and each thing or person has their own truth.
Is it true or false? It’s false.
How can you prove it? Each thing or person can prove by them self.
Have you ever used it (or them)? Yes I used before.

I learn about Fallacies, generalization and the writing process. It was a very interesting class today.

Learn more about fallacies because I have trouble to now when is a fallacy and when is a generalization.
