THE CHRONICLE Greetings Members: Well June was another busy month at the Lodge. Our Wildwood Convention was successful for our part. The Committee did an excellent job in spite of Mother Nature. Thank you all who attended, supported and worked with the Convention Committee it is greatly appreciated. The Women’s Auxiliary worked hard on the Annual Auction and yet another successful Paint and Sip. As always Ladies, a job well done. The Special Children's Father’s Day Breakfast was well attended. Tom and his crew did another fantastic job. Thank you to everyone for another successful Lodge event. The Entertainment Committee introduced a new fundraiser this month, Martini Night! Not only was it well attended, it was a fun night for all. The motor cycle committee is logging on miles as they attend events and letting bikers know Bordentown has riders. Thanks Jack for the great job you are doing. So, my next stop is Indy for the National Convention. I will be on my way July 3rd and I promise to represent Bordentown 2085 with the dignity and respect that Bordentown is known for. As Exalted Ruler all I can say to all of our Committees and the members that support the events of the Lodge is THANK YOU! “Independence Day, commonly know as the Fourth of July or July Fourth, is a federal holiday inthe United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776,declaring independence from Great Britain.Independence Day is commonly associated with

fireworks, parades, carnivals, fairs, picnics, con- certs , baseball games, family reunions and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the his- tory, government and traditions of the UnitedStates. Independence Day is the National Day of the United States.” (Wikipedia Encyclopedia) Another ho l iday, ti m e off from work, that we need to reflect on and re m e m ber why we cele- brate. O ur vetera n s date ba c k to t h e confl i cts that lead to our c o untr y ’ s inde p end e nce from Great Britain . *May 17, we had a wonderful time, with the SW Dis- trict, treating residents from the Vineland Veterans Home to a Philly’s ballgame. As they got off thebusses we each were assigned a veteran. May 30when we went to the home some of us got to see “our” veterans. It was great to see them and some us of will be writing and send them cards in be- tween bingo games.*June 13 was the Flag Day Ceremony at Edgewater Park and June 14th the SW District had its fourth annual Military Appreciation Day Pic-nic, more to follow on that.*As always, thanks to all who have donated cou- pons, we send a batch each month to our MilitaryFamilies overseas, thanks to all who support our1st Wednesday of the month dinners and thanks to all faithful bingo players who support our bingo tick-et sales. Also, we are still collecting man- ufacturer’s coupons to send to our enlisted families overseas. They can be 1 – 2 moths past date. If you could divide them between food (anything you swal- low, meds, etc.) and non food it would be a great help
