Today we are going to learn about summer foods that help us stay cool during the hot weather.
Watermelon is a fruit that we eat in the summer.
Watermelons:- Are round (circle)- Green on the outside - Red on the inside - Have seeds -
Ice cream is also something we eat in the summer.
Today we are going to make a watermelon craft.
Materials:- Paper plate - Markers/crayons - Dry black beans - Scissors - Glue
**Remember it does not have to be perfect. Let your child do the work and have fun with it.
MATH- This week we will focus on number 10.
1. Have your child count household items such as: beans, seeds, cereal, pasta, and toys.2. Request a number of items and have your child count and correspond with the items. 3. Write out the numbers 1-9 and have your child choose a number, identify it, and count object or draw pictures to correspond with the number.
LITERACY- Letter of the day: /W/ (review sound of the letter)
Have the children point the letter out in books.
Help your child find items around the house that start with that letter.
Have the children cut out pictures from a magazine that start with that letter and create a collage.

Directions: 1. Mix rice with a drop of red food coloring and lay out on a try to dry. 2. add black beans to represent the seeds 3. Have fun! How many seeds did you find?

Ice cream is made out of milk and sugar. It is a cold sweet treat that helps us stay cool in hot weather. Ice cream comes in many different flavors and can be served in a cone or cup.

Using a bucket of water gather several objects from around the house. Experiment which will sink/float.

When we go back to school, there will be new rules to follow. We have to follow those rules so we can stay safe and healthy.

As we move forward, some of us will be saying goodbye and getting ready to go to a big school. We will be saying goodbye to our teachers and friends.
