Safeguard Management and REDD+ Overview Training for DAs and
Woreda Experts.
Brief overview
The Development Agents in the woreda that have Natural Resources
management and /or background and position were trained with the woreda
relevant sectors for two days.
Objective/s
To enable the OFLP relevant sectors for the achievement of REDD+
through the implementation of safeguards management.
To give a training on the overview of OFLP and safeguard
management
To assess and evaluate the status of the relevant stockholders across
the woredas
To provide official platform or institutional mechanism for OFLP
stakeholders.
Training process/methods
With the contents of safeguard management and overview of OFLP, the
training was given for two days in this woreda.According to the annual
budget released by ORCU, the financial and logistic issues are facilitated
by the Liban Jawi woreda Environment, forest and climate change
authority. The facilitation works for this training was done by the woredas
EFCCA in the areas of convoking the DAs, preparing the meeting hall and
LCD. The participants from other relevant sectors with the woreda REDD+
committee had enriched the training regarding their sectors.

The training has covered 18 Development agents and 11 experts from
relevant sectors of the woredas and totally 29 participants are trained on
the safeguards management of REDD+ and on an overview of OFLP to
establish the grievance committee.
Result Contribution
The training has a great contribution on safeguard management which
enabled the OFLP to acquire extensive technical support on OFLP
safeguards instruments implementation, documentation, reporting, and
monitoring of safeguards performance in the Jibat woreda. To achieve the
general objective of the program, addressing them is a core and strategic
action.The trained DAs, woreda management bodies and the experts
trained are created good opportunity to perform the Woreda OFLP’s goals
and objectives.
Conclusion and
Recommendation
By this training the participants are well oriented on the general overview
of REDD+ Oromia/OFLP and the safeguard management titles with the
related topics. The development agents came from the kebele/rural areas
are oriented and assigned with grievance committee establishment and to
train the local community. The problems that are identified as the
