Conference Binder
The conference binder is divided by classes. Each student has their own conference sheet in the binder (in their classes tab) that I use while conferencing with them. I fill out the conference sheet before, during, and after our meetings to keep record of what we talked about, worked on, and where we are heading.
In the front of each class section I have a class roster. Each time I meet with a student I put a checkmark next to his or her name. This lets me know who I have met with and how many times we have conference together.
When I meet with a student I flip to his/her conference page in the binder (alphabetical order). I write down the date we conference, the assignment we are working on, a compliment I gave about their piece, and a teaching point that we discussed.
