Course Planning Sheet for Your Degree:By the end of first year, it is important to plan your courses for your entire degree. Many courses require pre-requisites to enroll. You must meet the requirements for your major, optional specialization, as well as your degree in order to graduate. The University advising website includes a very helpful degree requirements checklist. Some of this information is repeated below.
A Business Administration single or joint major has specific requirements. For example, a minimum grade of 60% is required in each of the following four required courses:
ADMN 1000H – Contemporary Issues in Management
ADMN 1021H – Financial Accounting I
ECON 1010H – Introductory Microeconomics
ECON 1020H – Introductory Macroeconomics
Students pursuing a single major BBA degree may elect to take 1 of 9 Specializations: Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Ethics & Sustainability, Finance, Human Resources Management, Information Systems & E-commerce, Marketing & Consumer Culture or Niigaaniiwin – the Art of Leading.
Students can only obtain one specialization as part of their BBA degree. A minimum grade of 65% is required in each course counting towards a specialization. We cannot guarantee that all specialization courses will be offered in the same academic year.
Important Notes: All required courses are listed on the back of this course planning sheet for your major.
Remaining elective courses can be chosen from other disciplines. Also attached is a four year planning sheet (full time studies).
Course schedules are subject to change. Please check the Academic Timetable for courses scheduled in an academic term.
It is important to monitor your progress regularly to ensure that you are on track. This planning sheet is only a guide. The University calendar copy is the authoritative version.
Trent also offers a number of exciting opportunities such as study abroad and an upper year internship course (ADMN 3870H/4880H).

My academic plan:Use the below chart, to draft out your entire Honours degree. This chart is taken from the resources section of the University academic advising website.
Each box represents a half credit course.
Please note that many ADMN courses are offered in both the fall and winter term. The important planning piece is to make sure you have the pre-requisites in order to take an upper year course. See the University calendar for a list of all our courses including pre-requisites. Then you have to create a conflict free timetable.
Use the chart on the next page to make sure you have your requirements for your major in Business Administration. If you have questions about Business Administration as a major, joint

major or minor please contact Deb Earle, School of Business Departmental Academic Advisor and Internship Coordinator at 705-748-1011 x7473, email [email protected], or drop by the office in Gzowski 356.
If you have need additional advising support on topics such as questions beyond your BBA degree, your joint major, and University appeals/petitions, please contact a Peterborough campus Academic Advisor to schedule an appointment. For drop in times and other resources please see the University academic advising website.
