Teaching:If there are any questions or concerns please address them to the director personally.

Our order of authority is as follows:DirectorAssistant DirectorTeam LeaderTeachers

We respectfully appreciate parental feedback and consider it valuable to our facility. Teaching is depending on the child’s ability to learn. The children are introduced to phonics, math, vowels, science, health, safety, manners and other activities. We teach transportation, occupations, countries, and much more. We use the ABEKA curriculum in teaching since it is a more advanced phonics based curriculum. Some children before entering kindergarten have mastered reading as well as basic math skills while using this curriculum. We acknowledge that each child has a different learning style or pattern. We try to find the child’s patterns and take them to their highest learning capabilities. Some children are ready prior to others so we find each child’s strengths and weaknesses to help them excel in those areas. Our goal is to make learning fun for every child, yet challenging.

Illness, Injury, and immunizations:Parents sending their child to the center should be sure he/she is well. Please do not

bring a child to the center if fever, vomiting, or diarrhea is already occurring or has occurred within the last 24 hours. Our properly trained staff will administer medication to a child ONLY if the parent gives written permission and it is in the original container thus releasing Busy Beez Daycare, L.L.C. of any responsibilities, especially with a non-prescription drug. Please fill out and sign a medication form stating the type of medication to be given, the correct dose amount, and time to which it is to be administered, providing it follows manufacturer’s instructions. Then the medication with the completed medication form must be turned into the daycare office. Prescription medication must be doctor authorized and proper documentation must be signed, dated, and completed. Medications no longer being administered will be sent home or disposed of by BBD within 14 days.

We will notify the parents immediately if a child develops a fever or other signs of illness. The child will then be separated from other children and made as comfortable as

6

possible while waiting for their parent’s arrival. Parents are to pick up their ill children as soon as possible. If a child has had a high temperature of 101 degrees or above they must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to daycare. If a child has had fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, they must be symptom free for 24 hours (without symptom reducing medications). Please do not mask a fever with fever reducing medications such as Tylenol, Motrin, etc. In the case of an emergency, parents and their designated physician will be notified. ALL CHILDREN MUST HAVE THEIR IMMUNIZATIONS UPDATED ON A CONTINUAL BASIS AND MUST HAVE AN UPDATED COPY IN THE CHILD’S DAYCARE FILE.

Clothing:Parents of infants will need to provide 5 crib sheets and blankets for nap time to be

changed daily per state regulation. All other ages will only require 1 crib sheet and cover blanket per week. If necessary we will provide a sheet and blanket for a charge of $4.00 per day of use. We will provide 1-5 year olds with vinyl sleeping mats. There is a $20.00 yearly usage fee. If the mat is damaged beyond safe use a fee will be charged to replace it. We ask that any items brought from home to be labeled and identified with the child’s name. As children may have accidents we ask that you bring 2 extra full sets of clothing to be left at the daycare center that is labeled.

Parents are to furnish disposable diapers, wipes, ointment and all other personal items that are needed for their child. When your child is ready for toilet training we ask that your child be placed in pullups as this will aid in your child’s effort to be toilet trained. Please, remember that we cannot toilet train your child if you do not begin training with him/her when at home.

Dress Code:Is as follows and applies to all children attending our daycare center. These policies may be

amended and added to as necessary. 1. No shirts or clothing depicting movie heros, musical groups, or other characters that

depict violence or other aggressive behaviors are not allowed (such as and not limited to; pop/rock singers, aggressive/ violent characters, or characters that may use improper, disrespectful or vulgar language, etc.) Discretion is left to the lead teacher of the student and the director when the clothing is questionable.

2. No mid drift tops, short skirts, or short shorts.3. No sleeveless tops or shirts including spaghetti straps or tanks as this is a choke hazard

5. Jewelry, temporary tattooing, or body art are not allowed with the exception of little girls with pierced ears.

8. Please wear shorts under skirts and dresses for privacy while playing on the playground equipment.

Thank you for your cooperation, these policies help ensure the safety of your children as they are busy playing and learning.

Discipline: Busy Beez Daycare, L.L.C. wishes to offer each child a pleasant atmosphere in which to

interact with other children. Therefore, the center will have definite guidelines for the children’s behavior. We cannot allow any child to hurt another person or abuse and destroy property. We instruct each child about behavior as he/she enters and becomes part of the center. When a child misbehaves, the caregiver will design corrective measures appropriate to the problem behavior and child’s age. Various forms of correction are as follows: redirection, explanation of the expected behavior, and timeout (which includes sitting on a chair, placing their head down on a table, not allowing child to participate in the activity until they have calmed down). We will also use a timer to teach the children to understand the concepts of calming down and helping them understand when they are allowed to rejoin the group. We will notify parents at the end of the day if the problem continues.

The following actions or threats are forbidden by anyone supervising or caring for the children in our center:

1. Physical punishment, striking a child, shaking a child, restricting movement through binding or tying or roughly handling a child

2. A child may not be confined to a small place that restricts them from moving or exiting as punishment

3. Punishment by another child4. Separation from a group where the child is away from hearing or visually seeing the

supervising staff member5. Withholding or forcing food 6. Verbal remarks which are demeaning and harmful to the child’s self esteem7. Punishment for toilet training accidents8. Punishment by applying harmful or unpleasant substances to the child

If a parent is uncooperative, unreasonable, or over demanding, we reserve the right to decline or to request withdrawal of any child. If a child knowingly defies a caregivers instruction and thereby hurts another child, staff, or destroys property, we notify the parents so that they may handle the situation. Parents are to help in securing the cooperation of the child and we reserve the right to drop from enrollment of any child that will not cooperate with our guidelines and policies. Adjustments:

We ask that you continue to remind your child of our policies and guidelines at home. Please praise and encourage your child to exhibit good behaviors while at daycare. This will help them acclimate and adjust smoothly to their new environment as we work together to show the child that they are important. It is our goal to build a child, family, and staff relationship of respect, trust, love, and cooperation to enhance the lives of your children.

Admission of students with communicable diseases:While it is not our desire to discriminate against any child, we face the challenges of

proving a safe haven for those youngsters in our care. It is our purpose to protect our students from illnesses, communicable disease, and potentially lethal diseases. Therefore any child that has been diagnosed with a communicable disease or potentially lethal disease will not be permitted to enroll in BBD classes until they have been medically diagnosed as no longer carrying the disease and provide written documentation and contact information to the physician writing those orders.

This policy applies to diseases such as, but not limited to, and including syphilis, gonorrhea, AIDS, etc.

Confidentiality: Busy Beez Daycare, L.L.C. will always be aware of confidentiality of student records. Only

Busy Beez Daycare, L.L.C, Discipline Agreement

Busy Bee Daycare L.L.C. wishes to offer each child a pleasant atmosphere in which to interact with other children. Therefore, the center will have definite guidelines for the children’s behavior. We cannot allow any child to hurt another person or abuse and destroy property. We instruct each child about behavior as he/she enters and becomes part of the center. When a child misbehaves, the caregiver will design corrective measures appropriate to the problem behavior and the child’s age. Various forms of correction are as follows: redirection, explanation of the expected behavior, and timeout (which includes sitting on a chair away from the other children, placing their head down anon a table, not allowing the child to participate in the activity until they have calmed down). We will also use a timer to teach the children to understand the concepts of calming down and helping them to understand when they are allowed to rejoin the group. We will notify parents at the end of the day if the problem continues.

If a parent is uncooperative, unreasonable, or over demanding, we reserve the right to decline enrollment or request withdrawal of any child. If a child knowingly defies a caregiver’s instruction and thereby hurts another child, staff, or destroys property, we notify the parents so that they may handle the situation. Parents are to help in securing the cooperation of the child and we reserve the right to drop from enrollment any child that will not cooperate with our guidelines and policies._____________________________________________________________________________

I have read and understand the policies of Busy Beez Daycare L.L.C. I have read the above and agree to support Busy Beez Daycare and its policies of discipline without reservation and personally pledge my support to these procedures. I also understand and agree that my weekly tuition is due before the week services rendered and subject to late charges and/or all collection and attorney fees. If my account is not kept current my child can be withdrawn and two weeks’ notice must be given if I decide to un-enroll my child. Even if my child does not attend, the final two weeks tuition must be paid. I also understand that if I am habitually late in picking up my child after the contracted hours or the centers closing hours; I may be asked by the director to withdraw my child.

My child will be enrolled:

Revisions/additions to policies

*added 5/21/18* Electronics- We believe that children should be given every opportunity while in our care to socialize and explore the world around them with as little interference from electronic stimuli as possible. It is our policy that electronic devices such as phones, laptops, tablets, handheld games etc. are not to be used while at our facility unless there is an emergency situation. It may then be used to contact a parent or local authority to retrieve aid. If possible, a staff member should always be made aware that an electronic device is being used to contact an outside party before a contact is made. Our facility maintains a land phone line that always available for children, staff and parents use. If an electronic device is required to complete a homework assignment then it may be used with permission from a staff member. Children and parents are never allowed to photograph or audio-record anyone other than themselves and their own children while on daycare property. The daycare is not responsible for any photography, recording or posting to social media that is done by parents or children while away from daycare property. This includes photography taken by staff at graduation or our annual Christmas program.
