Primary 4 Home Learning - fortnight commencing Monday 12 th March; Home Learning jotters due back in on Thursday 22 nd March Literacy and English Spelling It’s really important that Gold and Platinum words are embedded by the end of the session, so please keep consolidating at home. If you need to be reissued with either of these lists please just let me know. All groups are now working on common spelling patterns and rules. Spelling words should be practised each day using an activity from the Spelling Menu – you will not remember the words by copying them out once into your Home Learning jotter. As we are now learning/practising to join our handwriting in class the expectation is that this will be carried through to home learning and that there will be some written evidence of spelling practice recorded in the Home Learning jotter in neat joined handwriting. Week commencing 12 th March Wildcats – angle, jungle, horrible, terrible, knuckle, disable, obstacle, impossible, rectangle, believable, vehicle Pine Martens– club, flex, flying, sight, side, die, bright, sunshine, thirteen, fourteen Red Squirrels (Platinum) - bat, pet, self, out, our, round, mouth, saw, put, outside Otters (Gold) – hop, fit, grin, buzz, cross, less, miss, go, no, crossroad Week commencing 19 th March Literacy and English Reading Check your yellow Reading Record for pages to be read and remember to get your jotter signed. Check on the meaning of any unfamiliar words – ask someone at home, or use a dictionary (online dictionaries are fine too). I have posted some additional reading activities on the blog which you may like to try at home. Numeracy and Maths Keep working on those times tables and division facts at home as we will continue to work on our one minute challenge tests!
