POINTS WHICH REQUIRE YOUR ATTENTION
You must formally apply through Managing Agents KFH for consent to install new central heating system
Your installer will need a work parking permit from Westminster City Council; he will need to apply, with a covering letter from you at least 7 days before he needs to park
If you intend to bury pipework under floor or ceiling remember they must be properly supported and thermally insulated by your installer
You may need a support platform outside your flat so that your installer can safely complete the installation of the flue. KFH will liaise with Lessees requiring a support platform
You should arrange that the installer connects your new boiler to the new high pressure water mains and also that you connect up all your existing water outlets (bath, basin toilet sink and shower) to the new high pressure water mains at the same time as the new central heating system is installed.
If you are burying the pipework under the floor please remember that your lease states under Clause 21:-
“To keep the rooms of the Flat (except any kitchen and bathroom) including the passages thereof substantially carpeted”
Understand whether you need to inform your contents insurer that you have substantial building work taking place.
Familiarise yourself with lease provisions and Westminster council regulation on hours/days at which building works can take place.
Familiarise yourself with the lease clause regarding not using communal or outside areas for builders waste or materials. It is good practice to notify your neighbours before work starts.
