NOVEMBER 5, 2018 Dear Parents, This newsletter is to inform you on some necessary information to allow our seniors to have a flawless transition into the next phrase of their lives. Although we received unfortunate news from the District that the senior advisor, Ms. Reynolds, was transferred to another building, we are COMMITTED to making sure we honor our seniors with the senior year they deserve! The class of 2019 is really stepping up this year and we can’t wait to celebrate their achievements here at Parkway and with their college and career program acceptances this spring! This newsletter is to inform you on some necessary information to allow our seniors to have a flawless transition into the next phrase of their lives.

Although we received unfortunate news from the District that the senior advisor, Ms. Reynolds, was transferred to another building, we are COMMITTED to making sure we honor our seniors with the senior year they deserve!

Senior Fees: $225.00 – SAME AS 2017-2018 SENIOR DUES COVERING:

Year book-$50.00 Senior Portrait sitting fee-$30.00 Cap/gown-$25.00 Diploma cover-$15.00 Luncheon-$37.50 Graduation Program Music-$20.00 Graduation Rental fee-$10.00 Senior Windbreaker-$40.00 Printing of tickets/program booklets-$10.00 Please Note: The Home & School has organized two schoolwide fundraisers (Coupon Books & Cherrydale) where

all proceeds raised by seniors will go towards senior dues.

Payment Plan for Senior Dues & Prom Tickets:

November 16, 2019 - $75.00 FIRST PROM PAYMENT - December 3, 2019 - $40.00 ($80 for two tickets) February 1, 2019-$75.00 March 1, 2019- $75.00 (Final Payment) All funds are non-refundable SECOND PROM PAYMENT – April 1 - $35.00 ($70 for two tickets)

ALL PAYMENTS MUST BE IN CASH OR MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO:

PARKWAY NORTHWEST HIGH SCHOOL

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS CHECKLISTIn order for students to earn a high school diploma and to participate in graduation activities, the following must be completed. (No Seniors will receive any graduation items such as cap/gown/yearbook until the following have been met.)

___ Earn the required 23.5 credits (See Mrs. Fortunato if you have any questions or concerns.)

___ The completion of 120 hours of Community Service hours (See Mrs. Steinberg and Ms. Jennifer)

___ Senior Project (See Ms. May)

___ Full Payment of Classroom Dues of $250.00

___ Return any borrowed materials, such as books, calculators, or any other materials

___ Completion of end-of-year survey in Naviance

All service/enrichment hours must be completed on or before   MAY 3, 2019  

There are many ways to attain hours. Ms. Jennifer has lots of locations to share with you. Additionally, you may attain hours by doing any of the following:

Create a service location brochure that describes three viable, local service organizations, their missions, ways to serve at each location, and contact information for each location.

Go to a service organization and interview the person in charge. Find out the mission of the organization, history, ways the organization serves the community, etc. Then, write a one-page essay about the organization.

Attend an enrichment experience. Go to a museum, play, poetry reading, etc. If you do attend an enrichment experience, be sure to complete the Enrichment form. The form is available in Room 136

Help build the Student Community Center's future website! See Ms. Jennifer for details.

Picture Day Portraits are taken at your school. The school will be assigning appointment times.

Casual Pose –Express Yourself! Consider bringing letter jackets, leather jackets, sports equipment, and musical instruments to express your interests,

making your portraits personal. Bring matching shoes, and accessories to complete your outfits Iron wrinkled clothes prior to your session

Formal Graduation Pose Boys will be photographed in a tux and girls in a formal drape which will be provided by the Photographer. BOYS should bring a t-shirt for under their tux. GIRLS should bring a camisole for under their formal drapes. Students will be photographed in cap & gown, which will be provided by the Photographer.

Suggestions Style your hair before your session, choosing a comfortable style you know looks good. Bring a comb or brush for

touch-ups if necessary. Girls – apply makeup before you arrive and bring product with you for touch –ups Limit sun exposure prior to your portrait session avoiding tan lines Get a good night’s sleep
