~Tear off and Return~

UnityI dreamt I stood in a studio,

And watched two sculptors there. The clay they used was a young

child’s mind,And they fashioned it with care.

One was a teacher, the tools he used

Were books, music, and art.One a parent with a guiding hand

And a gentle loving heart.

Day after day, the teacher toiled,With a touch that was deft and

sure. While the parent labored by his

side,And polished and smoothed it o’er.

And when at last, their work was done,

They were proud of what they had wrought.

For the things they had molded into the child,

Could neither be sold nor bought.

And each agreed they would have failed

If each had worked alone,

For behind the parent stood the school

And behind the teacher the home.-Author Unknown

DPAC/SEPAC is made up of parents, educators, and community members who dedicate their time and energy to collaborate and

provide appropriate resources to students and their families and to make recommendations to the District on issues pertaining to the education and safety of all students.

“ALL ARE WELCOME!”

The East Orange School District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC/SEPAC) is a committee made up of concerned parents, grandparents, legal guardians, caretakers of students presently enrolled in the East Orange School District and concerned community members. Other participants may include staff of the East Orange School District, councilmen and women, local business owners, and other stakeholders who have chosen to contribute to the ongoing success of our students and our community.

It is our belief that student success increases when we all work together. The DPAC/SEPAC is designed to promote discussion

among and the development of families with an emphasis on the educational needs of all students in accordance with local, state, and federal mandates, to provide a forum through which educational concerns and recommendations may be heard and addressed, to provide programs aimed at increasing family and community engagement in our schools, and to empower stakeholders in such a way that they become capable, contributing citizens in our schools and communities.
