PACK 1.

PARENTS/CARERS: INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.This set of resources has been designed to help your child to continue their learning whilst away from school. The pack will be updated and revised in line with the length of the school closure. Please check online on a regular basis to see if a new learning pack has been made available. The pack is not designed to be completed in one week, so updates will be made available to certain sections or new sections created for the pack as required.Check in on “Microsoft Teams” and go to your class page for updates and more work to download. The details for Microsoft Teams will already have been sent out.

The amount of learning/number of activities to be completed by your child will vary, based on the child’s age. For KS2 children we would suggest between two and four hours of learning per day. (In addition to physical exercise and Daily Reading.)

The school will provide the work, but we understand that not all children may be able to complete all of the work at home.

We would ask all parents to ensure that their child is taking part in daily reading, either with support or independently. Please continue to update the Reading Records to show this.

Some of the work in the learning pack can be treated as a mini project. This will allow the children to carry out research and prepare a Powerpoint or other presentation, which they can share with the class on their return to school.

There is a good selection of activities in the pack, to ensure that your child is not expected to have excessive screen time, some of the activities can be completed without any technology usage.

Select a variety of tasks from the Learning Pack. In this pack you can choose from: Maths. English/Topic. Thinking. Computing.

Physical Activity.

Equipment.

To complete the tasks given the children will need access to the following basic equipment:

Lined Paper. (Homework book can be used) Plain Paper. (Homework book can be used) Colouring pens/pencils. Writing pen/pencil. Ruler.

What to do with the completed work:

Keep all the work in a folder. Bring back to school when you return.

The work will be looked at and marked when we all return, recognition will be given for efforts made, merits and house points awarded for work.

Write a poem or song which summarises an event in the Tudor period.Make it informative but catchy and remember to include key terms…

Design a Tudor board game.You do not have to make the game but you do need to show how the board would look, the instructions and rules, ideas for counters etc.

The Spanish Armada.Create a poster describing the route of the Armada – key information should be captured on the poster.

Create a Crossword using key words from what you have learnt about the Tudors.It should have a minimum of 15 words.

Create a Facebook profile for Henry VIII.What would he want? What are his likes and dislikes? What will he say?This should be at least one side of A4.

Create a guide to key figures during the Tudor period. Ensure it is factual.Minimum one A4 side.

Create a menu for either:a) A feast at the Royal Palace, orb) A day in a normal persons house.Use the internet to research the sort of food that people ate.

Create a newspaper front page following the Battle of Bosworth.How are you going to report the news? Make sure you include lots of detail.

Create a Tudor Vogue Magazine cover.What were women of the time wearing? What colours and fabrics were fashionable?

Find definitions for: Banquet, Monasteries, Protestant, Reformation, Supremacy, Treason & Poor Law Present the key words in an attractive manner.

Create a 5 minute starter for one of your history lessons. It should focus on your Tudor Expert area.It could be about Tudor Food, Religion, Crime & Punishment or warfare whatever you picked this term to be an expert in.

Create a comprehension text and questions based on your Tudor Expert area.A side of A4 for the text and at least ten questions.

Sketch and label your own picture of Henry and his six wives.Include the names of all his wives and their eventual fate.

Create a wordsearch using key words from your Tudor Expert area.Make sure to include at least fifteen words. Include the solution as well as the actual wordsearch.

Research food from Tudor times. Write out a recipe you like the look of.Include all of the instructions required to make your choice of food.

The Tudor rose is the symbol of the Tudor family and the colours and roses have a meaning. Create your own emblem for your family and explain why you have picked the colours and symbols you choose.

Using resources you have at home, create your own Tudor building/house.Cereal packets would be good to use for this.
