LOWER EXTREMITIES

Knee Extension

-Alternate between each leg. -Perform sitting in WC, recliner, or edge of bed-Complete 10 repetitions each leg.

Seated Marches

-Alternate between each leg. -Perform sitting in WC, recliner, or edge of bed-Complete 10 repetitions each leg.

Knee to Chest

-Complete laying on back in bed (supine)-With upper extremities grab on top of knee or under thigh and bring knee to chest-Complete 10 repetitions each leg

UPPER EXTREMITIES

Straight Push; shoulder flexion, elbow extension

-Clasp your hands together-Rest your arms on table-Reach your arms forward, then push your arms back toward you and relax shoulder-Complete 10 times

Elbow Bend / Flexion

-With a clenched fist or assist from non-affected arm, straighten affected elbow, then bend elbow-Complete 10 times, slowly

Wrist Bend Movement

-Use your non-affected hand to stretch your affected hand at thewrist. Stretch backward, then stretch forward. -Complete 10 times, slowly

KEEP MOVING!*If you cannot move your affected side, you can always use your non-

affected side to assist*

REPETITIONActivates neuroplasticity after a stroke
