From Amsterdam’s beautiful scenery to the ecstasy of its nightlife, rich culture with endless entertainment for people of a variety of interests, Amsterdam has so much to offer.Amsterdam offers a unique experience to those looking for an easy holiday not too remote from an urbanised home. Unique selling point of my advert
Amsterdam has a lot of unique selling points. Amsterdam offers a unique combination of an urban holiday with rich history. My advert shows how much variety there is in Amsterdam and that no matter what your interests, there is something you’ll enjoy in Amsterdam. From the clubbing to relaxing by the river, Amsterdam has so much to offer and I try to show that through my advert.
Why certain colours, graphics, sounds and locations have been used
I tried to give each scene a fresh, welcoming look by increasing the contrast during night time shots and increasing the brightness during day time shots. This gives a welcoming glow to the scenes that make the lights more attractive and beautiful.
The locations used where locations that showed the reality and beauty of Amsterdam, trying to give people an accurate view as well as a desire to visit Amsterdam
All sounds used were either music or the presenter’s voice. The music is lowered so you can hear the
presenter’s voice more clearly when he is speaking.

Target audience and selling figures
The target audience of my advert are young adults in the UK who want an easy holiday. Secondary audience are older adults because Amsterdam offers a wide variety of tourist attractions. Drawing in the younger adults with the nightlife and different laws but also drawing in the older adults with the beautiful scenery and history of Amsterdam.
The advert is aimed towards people of all ages. This is because the variety of Amsterdam is so
large anybody can come and find something they’ll like. Examples are young adults and clubbing or families and culture and history.
My advert and competitorsThere are a lot of competitors when it comes to tourism. An example of which is the California calling adverts that feature major celebrities that live in California, an advert is linked here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIs7-K_5EVsThe California calling advert is actually quite similar to mine however it advertises California in a more cheesy Americanised way
which does make sense. My advert is a lot calmer and collected which coincides with the Netherlands and their culture.
Our client The client I am working for is the government of Amsterdam trying to increase tourism numbers by airing an advert about Amsterdam in the UK after school ends for the year. This is done to make sure the most
amounts of people are free for holidays when viewing the advert to increase the target audience as much as possible. This should help increase tourism in Amsterdam and put it in people’s memory of ideal holiday locations.Tourism is a great source of income from a country and helps with a countries economy. This is why an advert like this could be beneficial to the Netherlands.
Market analysis
The market I am operating is not very flooded. There are not many adverts on television advertising countries as tourist destinations airing currently so this advert will stand out amongst most adverts aired in that ad break. This uniqueness works in my adverts favour because it helps to remember Amsterdam as a great holiday destination so when holiday goers want to decide where to go, Amsterdam will be fresh in their memory. Placing this advert before and during UK school summer holidays is ideal for this exact reason as this is the time where most holidays are booked according to various surveys.
Why you should buy our advert
There are many reasons why you should by this advert. One being that it is safe. There is little to no reason why anybody would file a complaint against this advert and therefore there is no risk in airing it. No controversy, no problem. Another is that it is beneficial to almost everybody. This advert is encouraging people to explore and experience a unique place in the world and due to the fact it is not through one booking agency, you as a booker can decide what agency you want to book through.
