Dear Supporter: This is to ask for your financial support of the Georgia Avenue Business Improvement & Development Corporation (GABIDDC) as it works to advance the well-being of residents and businesses in the upper Georgia Avenue corridor. GABIDDC was incorporated as a not for profit organization in 2011 and this spring was recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization by the IRS. Its mission is to advance opportunities for businesses and citizens of the upper Georgia avenue corridor. In the past twelve months, GABIDDC has sponsored a number of programs and initiatives including education programs with the Black Student Fund and the University of the District of Columbia; a community day showcasing businesses and not for profit organizations; a DC SYEP project funded by the DC Humanities creating an archival photographic record of Walter Reed and the Upper Georgia corridor as well as forums on the development project at Walter Reed. All of this work has been accomplished by a group of dedicated volunteers and a small budget. GABIDDC seeks your support to build its capacity to fulfill its mission and respond to calls from the community. In the upcoming days GABIDDC will launch its website and create a social media campaign. We will continue to rely on volunteers but resources are needed to support the work of dedicated volunteers. Donations to GABIDDC can be made by sending a check to the above address or donating on line at the GABIDDC website. 3636 16th St NW, 4th Floor Washington, DC 20010 Telephone: 202-406-0417 Email: nue Community
