The change of culture, under the British rule, denoted that British did not like the modesty and idea of wearing a sheer sari for women, Hence they introduced the culture of wearing a blouse and petticoat under the sari.petticoat was a stiffer material worn under the bottom part of the sari to prevent the sheerness of it.

The saris were now knee length with pleats back in fashion and tube top with sweetheart necks. The dupatta was now tied around the neck to make it look like a part of the jewellery, as the jewels were now stuck on the Pallu of the dupatta.

For people on earth the colours were now brighter than ever as due to the harsh ray of the sun their skin was darker

The blouse was replaced the dupatta of the sari to look like a halter to, accentuate the bosoms which was the preferred body type along with that actual sari was without multiple pleats now and was just one pleat which covered the slide on pant with division of the sari
