Hello fourth class! Still missing you all a lot and I hope that everyone is still keeping well. I don’t know about you but I have been making the most of the good weather and getting some time outside in my garden which has been really enjoyable. I hope you are getting time outside also. Be careful you don’t get sunburnt!!I would like to remind you to make sure to finish your creative writing ‘We are Writers’ pieces this week if possible and email them to Ms Lynch at this address: [email protected] I have allocated Friday’s English lesson so you can get it finished. Whether it was a poem, story, diary entry or whatever you have decided on last week, be sure to get your drafts finished and sent in. You can send it as a picture or a typed document. Ms Lynch has already received work from the other classes and is really looking forward to seeing 4th class entries!! Maths: This week, we are looking at Time
We already learned about time last year and this week we are continuing to understand time further.
Let’s start with converting hours to minutes and minutes to hours and minutes. Check out the videos below and answer the question.
Tip: Remember that there are 60 minutes in 1 hour.

This week we are going to focus on reading. Take one paragraph each day to read aloud.
Read the first paragraph at least twice. Take your time and use it as an opportunity to learn new words and build your vocabulary. Remember that reading is a great way to increase your knowledge and understanding of a language as you already know from reading English texts. The same applies for Irish!
Make a list of some new words you’ve learnt.

Tips: As I mentioned before, listening is a skill – see if can stay focused on the music for the full 5 minutes. Listening to the track a number of times also helps you relate to it better.

Art –
I hope everyone got on well with their frontline thank you colouring sheets last week and I’m sure some children have great stories to tell about them.
Today we are going to learn step by step how to draw a range of objects. You can use a pencil and rubber (to rub out unwanted lines at the end) for this and go over with a black marker when finished and then colour in. Each drawing has 6 steps. See can you follow each step. Take your time and could do some of them over the weekend. Choose as many as you like to draw. Have fun!
