Hi again 5 th Class! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. It was so lovely talking to you all last week! It sounds like everyone is getting on really well and working very hard. I am so impressed and super proud of you all! Well done Well done to Niall McCreesh, Niamh Smith, Katie Kearney and Jack Reade who sent in wonderful pieces of writing to Ms. Lynch. The pieces all vary from poems, diary entries, interviews with grandparents and stories. They are all fantastic so well done everybody! For those of you who haven’t sent one in yet, don’t worry. The closing date is Friday May 29 th so you still have time. I have attached a PDF of a new novel “There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom”. I would like you to start reading chapters 1-3 this week. I will be including some activities/questions based on the novel in next week’s work. Please note that this is a very large file so there is no need to print it. You can just read from the screen. There are no page numbers but the chapter numbers are on the top right hand-side of the page. This week I have also attached some of your Irish spelling sheets from the first two terms. You can find this in the “Extra Work” file. These are very useful for your revision work of our topic tests in Irish. I would suggest taking one sheet a week to revise. You can test yourself on these with the help of a parent or sibling. This week in geography you can complete your project. I’m very excited to see them so don’t forget to take a picture and email it to [email protected] Please remember to get permission from your parent/guardian before you send the picture of your project. Mrs. Hurson has returned from her Maternity Leave and has kindly designed some work to assist this week’s comprehension which can be found in the Learning Support Work. She has also made a short Kahoot quiz based on vocabulary from the comprehension for anyone who is interested. Thanks Mrs. Hurson and welcome back! 1

Gaeilge1) Verb – Déan

With the help of a parent or sibling, test yourself (orally and written) on the verb “Déan” in the past, present and future tense. For example; “He makes” and you would write down “Déanann sé” “She made” and you would write “Rinne sí” and “They will make” you would write “Déanfaidh siad”

You can correct this yourself afterwards.

2) Athbhreithniú – Revision

Scíobh an t-oideas a rinneamar ar scoil. (Write the recipe we did in school – You can stick to the same recipe you used for your topic test)

Bain úsáid as do nótaí más maith leat!
