As part of the Engage in their future competition, this is a competition based on the theme of “Connections”. Each student can enter: A short story, a poem and a photograph. Starter: Draw a spider diagram for a ideas for a short story based on the theme of “Connections”. Think about your focus, is it: Personal, local, national or international. List the main points you want to cover and place them in an organised order (This will help you to write in paragraphs and ensure you cover all of your main points). Get creative: Begin to draft your story Re read your story to check it makes sense Check for spelling and punctuation errors Write or type up your final version. Remember your story mountain! NB: Engage in their future class a short story as being roughly 500 words. This is a national competition. All work must be sent to Miss Loveridge by Thursday 30 th so that it can be entered by the deadline of 1 st May. All entrants receive certificates for each entry! Winners have engraved glass trophies. Good Luck! Key questions: What connections do we have? How are these connections started, developed and sustained? Why are connections even more important now?
