Rule of thirds: The principle behind the rule of thirds is simple. When breaking an image down into thirds you must make sure you end up with 9 parts. The theory is that if you place points of interest along the lines, your photo becomes more balanced and will help the viewer to enjoy the picture more naturally. Leading lines: Leading lines are lines within an image that can be found on objects within the image such as fences, bridges, even a shoreline. These leading lines can lead your eye through the image to points of interest or sometimes even outside of the image.

Framing is simply using other objects in your photograph to frame the focus of the image. This is one of the easier composition techniques in photography, framing brings more depth to the picture and a better focus on what the main subject is.
