ANDIDATE INFORMATION PACKPromotional Assistant (Race for Life)Events Marketing Team

WELCOMEI’m delighted you’re considering joining us at Cancer Research UK. We hope this pack will help you understand a little bit more about what it’s like to work in our Events Marketing team.

Here at Cancer Research UK we are a collective force, leading pioneering life-saving research. Each day, creating more tomorrows. Across the UK we fund more than 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses based in hospitals, universities and specialist research institutes. Our scientists are dedicated to improving our understanding of cancer and investigating how best to prevent, diagnose and treat different forms of the disease. Our extensive research programme is entirely funded by donations from the general public.

We are bringing forward the day when all cancers are cured. Our ground breaking work into prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has seen survival double in the last 40 years. Our scientists and doctors have contributed to most of the world’s top cancer drugs and we have pioneers the use of radiotherapy to treat cancer.

If you share our vision, and are a talented, ambitious individual, we’d love you to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

HEAR FROM THE TEAM “I had such a great time working for Cancer

Research UK on their Race for Life campaign. Every day was different which is so much nicer than your ordinary 9-5 job and the teams were so much fun to work with. There was something incredibly humbling about the job too, I'm not ashamed to say that there were moments where complete strangers and I would cry with each other while they shared their own personal cancer stories and times when people would come up to me and thank me for my efforts, and those moments are what really make you realise how special and important a job like this is.”

- Lauren Osborne, Promotional Assistant 2016
