First Grade NewsApril 20, 2020
Everyone is doing a great job of finishing work and submitting it to me on time. If you have any problems finishing something, please let me know and I will give you some extra time to finish.
Below you will find this week’s work. There is a religion test this week. You can either print the test out for your child to take or you can simply have them write his/her answers on a piece of paper or dry erase board and send me a picture of the answers. I did put in a specific assignment for math from Freckle.com. If you choose this one, you will simply go under the my teacher box and find the assignment for reviewing telling time.
Please make sure your child is taking the quiz after reading his/her book on Raz Kids. The quiz is the question mark box under the book. This quiz is counting as your child’s reading test so it is important that he/she take it.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or send me a message on Class Dojo. I do try to check everything multiple times a day.

Math Choice BoardWeek of April 27th-May 1st
Choose any 4 activities to complete this week. Using only squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles create a picture for me. You must color it. Take a picture of your drawing and send it to me with your other work.

Writing
Week of April 27th-May 1stPretend you are a squirrel in the woods or the park. Write at least 5 sentences telling me what you do as a squirrel. You can include where you go, what you are eating, and what you do all day long. Make sure you have correct punctuation and capitalization. You may help your child spell and help them check over their sentences, but please let them come up with the ideas on their own.

Social StudiesWeek of April 27th-May 1st
A citizen is a person who belongs to a country. Good citizens follow rules and laws. They get along with others and help in their communities.
1. Write a list of at least 5 rules we have at school to keep everyone safe and allow everyone to learn. They can be rules from our classroom, the hallway, the playground, or the cafeteria. You can illustrate the rules if you want, but you do not have to illustrate.
Have your child complete the social studies activity. You will need to take a picture of the completed assignment or scan them and then email them to me.
