EXTENSION ACTIVITIES

Environment Day Celebration (Funded by KSCSTE)

Planting of Stevia saplings was done at Govt. Hospital, Aluva . Planting of saplings of fruit plants in the campus was organized in association with Mahindra Finance group and plan@earth.In association with Krishibhavan, cabbage and cauliflower saplings were distributed in the college.

NEAC (Funded by MoEF)

It was inaugurated by Dr.C.M.Joy, Asso. Prof, Dept. of Botany, S.H.College, Thevara. Preparation of bio-pesticides(coils) was done by students. Painting competition was conducted.

URJAKIRAN (Funded by EMC)

Inauguration was done by Sri. Anwar Sadath , MLA on 08.01.2016 . A talk was arranged for the public,PTA and students at our college by Mr. V.K.Nair from EMC . Distribution of LED bulbs and palm lets was done at Municipal Colony,Aluva. Poster making competition was conducted for students.

PAARISTHITHIKAM (Funded by Dept. of Envt. And Climate Change, Kerala)

It is a project funded by Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Kerala . Inauguration was done by Dr.Joby Paul, Assistant professor, St.Thomas College Trissur.Competitions on poster making ,collage and painting were conducted.

WORLD WET LAND DAY celebration (Funded by KSCSTE)

Competition on photography was conducted for students.A seminar was taken by Dr.John K.U., Asso. Prof. of Agronomy, KAU, Mannoothy on 4-2-16 in association with Microbiology department.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY (Funded by KSCSTE)

Competitions on ‘No more Waste’ theme and on Innovative projects was conducted for by students.

WORLD SOIL DAY

An exhibition was oragnised in our college in association with world soil day.Awareness campaign was done in nearby SNDP and ST.FRANCIS school by our students.

CLUB ACTIVITIES

BIODIVERSITY CLUB (Affiliated to Biodiversity board, Kerala)

Members of Biodiversity club attended biodiversity seminar organized by Sree Ponnakudam Bhagavathy devaswam trust in association with forest department . Planting of saplings in association with Mathrubhoomi SEED was done in Govt. Higher secondary school Kuttamassery.

NATURE CLUB (Affiliated to Encon Club of BPCL)

Essay ,quiz  & painting competitions were conducted

ACADEMIC WEEK CELEBRATION

A talk by Dr.John K.U., Asso. Prof. of Agronomy, KAU, Mannoothy was organized on 4-2-16 in association with Microbiology department.

OSAX

The department organized stalls on organic vegetables and clothing during osax fair

A talk on” Concepts and application of Bioinformatics” by alumni member, Mrs.Shifnamol .T.A. ,Assistant professor, Dept. of Bioinformatics, M.E.S. College ,Edathala was organized on 4-2-16

CAREER GUIDANCE

Career guidance was given  by Mr. Kiran ,Research World, Ernakulam for final year Degree students on 22-1-16.Career guidance was also given  by Mr. Jaleel Kishore, H R Department,Rajagiri for final year Degree students.Academically excellent students attended ICT training for career excellence.

STUDY TOUR

Two day study trip was organized for  3rd DC students to Malampuzha and Ooty .They also visited Tea factory ,Ooty. One day study trip was organized for  3rd DC and 1 DC students to sacred groove at Ponnakkudam Bhagavathy temple, Kalamassery.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Ms. Jithasree Jayaram presented paper in the DST sponsored National seminar held at St.Thomas College, Trissur . Ms. Jithasree Jayaram also presented a paper in the UGC sponsored National seminar held at Govt. College, Chittoor.

Ms. Sreelakshmi Rajesh, Ms.Anagha and Ms.Vandana Sasi won merit scholarship by Maheendra finance group.
