GIBS organized fresher’s party on 25th August, 2018 at Mosaic Banquet, Wazirpur, Delhi. It was a day filled with joy and enthusiasm. The students synergized their efforts to put up performances for the fresher’s. It was a fun-filled event which gave a platform to the newcomers to showcase their talent. The purpose of the event was that every fresher of GIBS feels like an integral part of GIBS family and readies to take on the challenge of the year ahead. Jovial smiles and high spirits marked the welcome part for the students.

With pulsating ambience, foot tapping music the party began with a blast. The excitement augmented to a joyful high when 22 contestants were called to give their introduction. It was followed by a group choir performance by Sashvant Pant, Madhur Rathaur, Sanyam Jain, Bhavya Sharma, Priyanshu Sharma Madhur Aggarwal and Pooja Shah. A scintillating belly dance performance was performed by Karan Singh Negi after which 13 chosen contestants were announced for the next round. To entertain the fresher’s Duet dance, performances were performed by Satyam Dubey and Ms Jeenal Choudhary and later by Prabhat Mehto and Ms Latika.

The Fresher’s Welcome gained momentum with the talent round where the 13 contestants were asked to showcase their talent. Different facets of the participant’s persona could be seen in paintings drawn by them, dance performances, rap music singing and mono-acting.

This was followed by a Bhangra performance by Gurpreet Singh, Hardic Gogia ,Tanya Chauhan, Sheeba Parveen, Shruti Divedi, Kritika Sharma and Sonali Verma. After the mesmerizing dance performance, there was a Punjabi song sung by anchor Shubham Singh followed by dance performance by Parth Tanwar.

ABHINANDAN 2018 THE FRESHER’S PARTY 25th AUGUST, 2018

The finale of the fresher’s welcome was preceded by a final question answer round. Till the results were to be announced, a dance performance was performed by Shagun and her group. The results of the Fresher’s Welcome were announced by Director GIBS, Prof B.S.Hothi and the awarding of the students with sash, momento and crown was done by Dr Uma Gulati, Prof Anup Ghosh and Ms Monika Trakru.

Sushant Bhardwaj of MBAE1B won Mr Abhinandan Award while Miss Abhinandan was won by Aishika Parashar of BBA1A who also won Best Talent award. Another category of award was presented to student participants of Mr Well dressed which was awarded to Kashish Singla of MBAIB 1 and Miss well dressed to Anushka Kishwar of BBALLB1

It was all about making the best start to the new academic year, a time to create everlasting relationships with each other. The event was an indication of union among students.
