Lent and Easter Sunday have past so we are in the season of Easter and are in lockdown for the next two weeks, if not longer. We are working at establishing a weekly rhythm for our life together as a Parish. The basic structure of the week will be:

5. Easter Offering: Parish Solidarity FundNormally the Easter Offering goes to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund. The Parish at its Council meeting on Tuesday decided that we should start a Parish Solidarity Fund on Easter Day. Some members of our family are going to lose jobs, watch livelihoods disappear before their eyes, and face severe financial situations. Others of us are abundantly resourced and will emerge from this crisis financially intact. As we set up a Parish Solidarity Fund to help meet the needs of members of our family who are in need, we are asking for generosity by those who are able to give. In a true Franciscan spirit, let us live more simply so that others may simply live. Please use the same bank account as above. Please put “Solidarity Fund” as your reference.
STAFF MOVEMENTS
Last week I announced that Michael Mothusi had been dismissed from his position as Caretaker. To allay concerns I would like it known that Michael had anticipated such a move and was able move home prior to the lockdown on Thursday 26. We assure you that proper protocols were followed and that Michael was given a generous severance package.
THE ANNUAL KOPPIE EUCHARIST SCHEDULED FOR MAY 3 WILL NO LONGER TAKE PLACE
The 8:30 Church Unusual service on the 3rd will have an Eco focus as part of the service.

PRAYERS FOR THE CHURCH We pray for the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem & The Middle East The Most Revd Michael Lewis –Archbishop, Jerusalem & the Middle East & Bishop of Cyprus and the Gulf. We pray for Steve our Bishop and our Diocese, for Thabo our Metropolitan and the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, for Justin of Canterbury and the Anglican Communion, and all Christians across the world.
A PRAYER FOR CONNECTION IN A TIME OF PHYSICAL SEPARATION
O God, in this time of physical separation may we be united in our desire to care for each other and our world. Strengthen our communication in unexpected ways, keep us listening in deep and meaningful ways, keep us patient in practical and resourceful ways and soften our hearts to help those who need us.
A PRAYER FOR THE WORLD
Our daily lives revolve around the comfort of activities and relationships that are always present, known and certain. Suddenly we find ourselves flung into a changed world where we are vulnerable, insecure and unable to predict what the future holds. Now more than ever we turn to the constancy that belongs only to you. May your truth inspire in each of us a willingness to listen and to behave generously towards others who are fearful or deprived.
