1 Introduction

Comments: Aim/ Problem definition/ Hypothesis Boundary Conditions/ Framework/ Guidelines Build up of the work/describe methodogical procedure

Hint:

The research field for human-machine interaction at the institute for management sciences prefers a uniform structure of thesis that have to be handed in. The use of „Wissenschaftliche(s) Arbeiten – Leitfaden zur Erstellung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten“ should be of support to you and can be attained from Mrs. Wenzina (Theresianumgasse 27, Secretarys Office 2. Floor).

Should the thesis deviate from the required structure or formal guidelines then the respective draft will be returned with a comment on the section in question without any corrections.

2 Theoretical Fundamentals

Text

2.1 Fundamentals Field of Research 1 Comment:

Adapt headings! Statements and scientific processing of the basics, methods or similar, which

are part of the practical part. Guidelines: ~30-40% of the Thesis

General information for students

All chapters in the first tier (Chapter 1,2,3,etc) have to be put in seperate paragraphs, which means that they each start on a seperate page (this does not apply to subtiers such as 1.2 etc.) Format templates for test, headings, listings and figures etc. have to be used.

The header line has to contain the page number in the upper right corner and the chapter title in the upper left corner.

The headings will be adjusted according to the content of the text. The headings of this template are solely for demonstration purposes and should present a fundamental structure.

The use of wide, underlined and kursiv formating should fundamentally be avoided. In individual cases however it can lead to an improved structure and is therefore tob e determined individually.

Please look up any further information in the following document „Wissenschaftliche(s) Arbeiten – Leitfaden zur Erstellung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten“.

2.2 Fundamentals Field of Research 1 Citation guidelines

It is especially to be considered that the method of citation has to be uniform throughout the document.

Independant of the use of direct or indirect quotes of text passages it is suggested to cite using short form.

EXAMPLE1

Concerning uniform structure one should regard the following:

Position of the footnote in the text (e.g. before punctuation or after) Differentiation between direkt or indirect quotes Format in the style oft he footnote (spacing, punctuation,...)

1 Last Name, Year of Publication, P. Page number

Comment: Also adapt headings in this section Contets according to document „Wissenschaftliche(s) Arbeiten – Leitfaden zur

Erstellung wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten“ The before explained fundamentals and basics are to be used for the problem

solving of the topic of the thesis. It is required to create a detailed explantion for third parties which can be

comprehended comprehensive part of the thesis.
