Parents, As you know this distance learning has been a learning experience for us all. I’m going to try something different this week. We are supposed to have a 4 day week (with Good Friday) so I’m sending you plans for 4 days. This time you will have 3 separate days of plans (by topic) with one day of review. Order doesn’t matter – you can let them choose if you’d like. Let me know if you have any trouble…questions…concerns…etc. And…don’t forget to send me your videos of them “reading” the lines to “The Pigeon Wants a Puppy” – I can’t wait to see how that turns out! Also…I have set up assignments in ixl.com for them. I assigned enough for them to do 2 Reading and 2 Math per day (actually I think I put 10 assignments in thinking of a 5 day week so don’t let that confuse you). Again, do what you can. Parents,

As you know this distance learning has been a learning experience for us all.

Log-in info is below:

Go to brainpopjr.com – watch the video on Transportation

(To log in go to brainpopjr.com – enter username: Donze1 - password: Graymont1)

Watch video and take the quiz

Fill out the worksheet below after watching the video

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make paper airplanes – have mom or dad send me a picture or video of you flying your airplane. Feel free to decorate it! Here is a web-site if you need ideas on how to fold a cool plane:

https://www.foldnfly.com/#/1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to www.raz-kids.com – log in with the info I gave you last week and read or listen to the book “Getting Around the City” (there are worksheets and a quiz there if you’d like to do them but those are optional)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Math – you can choose 1 of the options attached

· Roll a Helicopter – I think you’d have to print and cut the parts out

· Let’s Measure – if you have a ruler in the house measure to the nearest inch

· Sailing Boats Subtraction Coloring page

· If you don’t have access to a printer – just do some addition or subtraction review, find the # that makes 10 review, OR find some cars, trucks, etc. around the house to measure

Brainpopjr.com Transportation Video

This video shows many types of transportation. It says that many types of transportation are used to take goods to places that need them. Talk with your mom or dad about what goods are. List 3 types of goods we might need transported during this time:

1. _________________________________________________________

2. _________________________________________________________

3. _________________________________________________________

What is your favorite type of transportation shown in the video?

_______________________________________________________________

What type of transportation have you never experienced?

Animals

Go to brainpopjr.com – watch the video on “Classifying Animals”

Take the quiz

Using an animal you have at home, draw or trace the shadow of any animal you choose (like the picture below). If you don’t have an animal, you can do your best or look online for a tutorial. Have your mom or dad send me a picture of your drawing to see if I can guess what it is! You can color it if you’d like.

After watching the video and drawing your animal, fill out the attached worksheet below. If you don’t know or remember the answers from the video, google or siri would be happy to help. ;)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to www.raz-kids.com – Read or listen to the book “Animals, Animals” (again, there is a quiz and a worksheet if you’re interested)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Math – choose 1 option

· Swimming School Graphing

· Fish Addition

· Cows

· If you can’t print – practice any of the above in your own way

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve included a Machines and Their Moving Parts worksheet to use for discussion – you can print and fill it out or just discuss together.
