ONLINE SERVICE FOR ZION EVANGELICAL CHURCH2ND SUNDAY OF EASTER, APRIL 19, 2020
You are encouraged to go through these as a family, although they can certainly be done individually. While this service is much like our church service, some parts have been eliminated or moved to help it flow better. If you do not care for the renditions of the hymns, there are several other arrangements on YouTube for all the songs. Find one that speaks to your heart.
We hope this service will feed your soul during our forced isolation. Keep those affected by the virus in your prayers—those affected physically, emotionally and economically. Our other prayer concerns:

Alleluia, the Lord is Risen! The Lord is risen, indeed. Alleluia! Lord God, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter every day. Bless our worship this morning as we come to give You thanks and praise for the glorious resurrection of Your Son Jesus, and for the new life we find in His name, Amen.

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Lord God, everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves the child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and keeping His commands. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world. Thanks be to God! Amen.
Apostles’ Creed: Our Statement of Faith
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead. Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
