History Begun in 1984, the TG Internship, today known as Nexus Internship, was created to provide opportunities for college students and seminarians to explore calling into local church ministry. It arose from a felt need to develop and nurture leaders for future generations of predominantly English- speaking Korean Americans who would need to be theologically and practically equipped to bridge complexities of being Korean and American, immigrant and native, communal and individualistic, hierarchical and egalitarian. Interns are matched with teaching sites committed to nurturing future leaders by exposing and involving interns into the full life and running of their ministries. Internship, today known as Nexus Internship, was created

to provide opportunities for college students and

seminarians to explore calling into local church ministry. It

arose from a felt need to develop and nurture leaders

for future generations of predominantly English-

speaking Korean Americans who would need to be

theologically and practically equipped to bridge

complexities of being Korean and American, immigrant and

native, communal and individualistic, hierarchical and egalitarian. Since its inception, the summer internship has played a

significant and even critical role in the decision-making

and discerning process of its participants, many of whom are now actively serving in

United Methodist congregations and ministries throughout the United States.
