My experience in Math Modeling

I was able to enjoy the material covered in class! This is because:

The repetition made material easy to recall

Information was explained in a way I could understand

If I didn’t understand anything, my teach found a way to help me.

The material was a mixture of information I knew with information I didn’t, but it always came together to make sense

Working with WebAssign was great!

The homework assignments walked me through the problems step by step

There was Study Guides for each tests

We were able to receive extra credit for turning assignments in early!

I was less nervous Taking WebAssign tests in class because it felt like I was just doing homework and I did well on them.

Working with Excel

Excel was a little more of a challenge for me, considering my inability to handle technology, but it was nothing after a week or so.

Once the formula was correct to plug in equations, using excel was very simple.

Excel was very useful to uncover massive amounts of data that a calculator couldn’t do.

I could have a chart of over 100 data points and answer many questions with one formula.

My Perception of Math before/after this class

I have always been easy at math, so I thought this class was would be very simple.

This class taught me to think more about WHY I got the answer I got.

After Math Modeling, I was more able to ask WHY in addition to WHAT. (knowing why you get an answer is just as important as what the answer is if not more).

Change in me after Math Modeling

With the help of Excel, WebAssign, and my professor, I was able to be more efficient with finding answers.

Beyond Math class

I asked myself, WHY before just doing anything

I broke more things down step by step as opposed to taking anything all at once

I put my mind to changing my studying/learning habits and have become more successful in various areas!
