SUMMER ‘SHADE’ EDITION

Park Tavern Steak HousePark Tavern Steak House

From the Editor!

Welcome to the Summer edition of the Weather Report. In this edition I’d like to concentrate on the shade side of things coz I really reckon that this year is going to be a Summer Scorcher and we have many varied ways of providing shade and keeping this a bit cooler without maxing out your airconditioner (and the bank account).

Congratulations to Rosemary Ricetti who won the Spot the Difference competition and who picked up a $100 fuel voucher from our friends at City and Regional Fuels the local BP distributor. The competition was really popular with heaps of entries so we will have another Spot the Difference in the Autumn Weather Report.

We were the victims of the dreaded hackers with our spot the difference web site being hacked the second day it was up so sorry to all those who tried to enter online. Hopefully we will be back to normal for our Autumn comp.

This summer I thought I would throw in something for the Kids so there is a colouring in competition to keep the kids amused and keep them out of mums hair for the odd nanosecond these summer holidays.

Search for Ricky and Mickey on You tube to get some hints. Two $25 gift vouchers up for grabs from my mates Richard and Harvey at Toyworld for the best boy and girl entry.

Finally I would like to wish all my friends, colleagues

and clients a very happy Christmas and New Year. I’d like to thank you for using WeatherSafe WA for all your outdoor weather protection products and look forward to seeing you throughout 2013. We have some exciting things planned for next year, new products and promotions that I would love to keep all my past and present clients involved.

Anyway have a great summer and don’t get sun burnt!

Regards

Mark Lewis General Manager.

Span Shade Structures

Weathersafe Span Shade Structures are a versatile fully framed self-supporting shade structure.

Recently benefi ting from several design improvements and suitably sized from 3m square up to 20m wide by any length (yes any length is possible), these structures are fully engineered and are perfect for sandpits and covering playground equipment.

Covered with ‘Monotec Shade cloth, arguably the strongest shadecloth on the planet and the only shade cloth manufactured in Australia, the newly revamped Span Shade is a very cost effective method of shade.

Our new improved corner tensioning system along with WeatherSafe’s ultra-strong corners and perimeter wire, ensures that the shadecloth membrane is continually tight and easy to maintain tension and that means no fl apping and peace of mind.

Double Span shade systems allow for extensions to any length and double up to reduce the poles used.

Tips For Filling Up Your CarWe run fi ve company vehicles at WeatherSafe and with the high price of fuel I’m always looking for ways to minimize my costs. Here are a few tips a friend of mine who runs a petrol station gave me to pass on.

We run fi ve company vehicles at WeatherSafe and with the high price of fuel I’m always looking for ways to minimize my costs. Here are a few tips a friend of mine who runs a petrol

1. Only fi ll up your car in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. This is especially important in the hot Summer months. You see all Service Stations have their storage tanks buried beneath the ground.

The colder the ground the more dense the fuel. When it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or evening, your litre is not exactly a litre.

In the petroleum business, the specifi c gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel, jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role.

A one degree rise in temperature is a big deal in this business but the Service Stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

2. When you are fi lling up do not squeeze

the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode.

If you look you will see that the trigger has

three (3) stages; low, middle and high.

Always pump in slow mode because this

minimises the vapours that are created

while you are pumping. All hoses at the

pump have a vapour return. If you are

pumping on the fast rate, some of the

liquid that goes into your tank becomes

vapour.

Those vapours are being sucked up and

back into the underground storage tank so

you’re getting less worth for your money.

3. Always fi ll up when your tank is HALF FULL.

The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal fl oating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimises the evaporation.

5. If there is a fuel truck pumping into storage tanks when you stop to buy, DO NOT FILL UP.

Most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered and you might pick up some dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

I hope this will help you get the most value for your money.

4. Keep your car in good working order.

A well-tuned motor and good tyres will

always reduce your fuel consumption

Angry Illusion

If you know me then you know I love illusions. This one is a beauty. Look at it closely and you will see a pretty girl on the right and an angry old lady on the left. Now prop it up and take a few steps backwards and see what happens.

There are no illusions at WeatherSafe WA. We watch our competitors give outrageous discounts and make outlandish promises. We know that you know to give a 30% discount you have to add 40% to start with. Koppers Logs Car Park Shade Sails

The team at Koppers Logs, had a huge outdoor parking area where the employees all parked. Not only were there no parking bays marked but it was an extremely hot and dusty area. Graeme, the manager, and Mark came up with a design that would fi t into the area and give a bit of order for the guys when parking the cars.

We, of course used Koppers logs for our upright poles, and built a huge Carnival tent style structure that not only looks great but provides excellent shade. As we always recommend we used dark

green Monotec Shadecloth, the strongest shadecloth on the planet, to match Koppers corporate colours. The fi nished structure was approx. 18m x 10m.

Rose Ricetti - SPRING WINNER!

Rosemary correctly picked which shade sail was built by WeatherSafe and won a $100 fuel voucher from our friends at City and Regional Fuels. The sail structure is the outdoor alfresco area at the Park Tavern in Bunbury. Well done Rosemary. Be sure to look out for our next Spot the difference competition in the Autumn edition of the Weather Report

Park Tavern Steak House!

Several years ago when the Park Tavern was redeveloped WeatherSafe was commissioned to build outdoor shade areas for the two alfresco areas. At the time they were built from shadecloth to provide some respite from the weather mainly for smokers.

As the popularity of the Tavern grew it was necessary to make these two areas usable all year round and so we built all weather waterproof structures over the top of the existing shade sails. We built the Waterproof membrane over the Rogan Josh alfresco area several years ago and just this year we completed the waterproof membrane over the new Steak house restaurant. Made from Ferrari 502, a long lasting PVC designed specifi cally for tension membrane structures, the result has transformed the alfresco area and made it possible to cater for more than 20 extra patrons.

We fi lled the side walls with clear PVC blinds to make it the ideal area to have quality alfresco dining no matter what the weather is like.

And I can seriously recommend the Steak house restaurant. We have had several personal and staffs do’s there. The food is great and service is excellent. You can fi nd the Steak house on the corner of Brittain Rd and Bussel Highway at the entrance to the Park Centre.

Hello

We meant to send you this image following

the storm in June. As you can see the sail

withstood the wind remarkably well. We had

trees down, one just missed a support pole

for the sail, and branches everywhere.

We were away when the storm hit so we

couldn’t have taken it down.

We think it is indicative of how strong t

he

sails are and how much they can withs

tand.

Are you a smoker and sick of being constantly out of breath, told that you stink, got brown teeth and yellow fi ngers, spending way too much money on cigarettes and want to give up?

I was a smoker years ago and was talking to a good friend of mine, Andrew Kuipers from ‘Give Smoking the Flick’, about how hard it is to give up the dreaded smokes.

Andrew helps people give up smoking and has come up with a great offer just for my WeatherSafe clients to help you quit the habit.

Andrew has offered his initial consultation (Worth $87) for free and on top of that is giving WeatherSafe clients an additional 10% off his normal price. - Give Andrew a call on 1300 88 77 43 and ask for the WeatherSafe deal.
