2. Chemical Weathering Chemical Weathering breaks down rocks by changing the minerals inside of it. 3. Physical Weathering Physical Weathering is breaking down a rock, but it does not change the inside of the rock. Here is an example of physical weathering. 4. Abrasion Abrasion is the wearing away of rocks with sand. 5. Carbonic Acid Carbonic Acid is when rainwater and carbon dioxide mix. This is an example of carbonic acid that has been going on for thousands of years. 6. Horizons Horizons are the layers of soil. 7. Humus (Hue-mus) Humus is decayed plant or animal material. 8.
