In the East and Horn of Africa alone, UNHCR reckons that about 1.8 million refugees and more than 3M IDPs (include 340,000 in Dadaab)
11M people of concern in Africa in 2014, including stateless people and returnees.
Kenya is largest refugee hosting country in Africa, followed by Chad and Ethiopia.
Largest single refugee camp in Northern Kenya comprises 350,000 Somali refugees, as many as you have in Ethiopia.
Somalia, DRC, Sudan, South Sudan, CAR and Eritrea contribute largely to the increasing population of people of concern
Conflict- political, religious, land, resources, ethnic, economic, violation of dignity etc.
Environment factors/climate change-
drought, inadequate grazing grounds, infertile ground for agricultural production
